Such a good album. The let out is pure heat.

As a hiphop fan its a shame that Cole bowed out from the beef. Because listening to Poor Thang and WHO TF IZ U, Cole wouldve ripped both Drake and Kendrick apart.

BUT its still one of the realest move to bow out. Set his ego and pride aside and realize this is not his beef. These are my friends.

With that said for now this album is special and I think just as 4YEO it will remain in rotation front to back for years for me.

Funny how Drake and Cole have both interpolated the same DMX and TI songs

    (How’s it goin down & 24s)

Name the tracks I'm keeping track of all the ones on here.

  • The rapping is the worst thing about this
Some of these bars spelled out man

  • Poor Thang is elite tho

the bars cole gave drake on birthday blizzard were very clever and nicely done. golden goose is a pretty layered record

problem with cole and dot is that he didn't have enough on kendrick nor not enough hate for who is essentially his manz to get the job done and I thought 7 minute drill displayed that well enough--it's not like we never had a confrontation lol

poor thang clearly shows what cole can do when he has real, true issues with somebody and it's believable and plays very well.

Neither do a lot of the old guys. Tired of hearing people say they're too old to rap. Billy Woods and Black Thought and Aesop Rock are going to rap until the day they die. F*** a podcast

all 3 of them can rap about more abstract s*** whenever they want tho

the rappers doing podcast only rapped about they own life for the most part cause thats what being popping at the time was about

they dont even know they could be doing more

Safety is def a Lupe sounding track. I can easily hear Lupe rhyming and Niki Jean on backing vocals

J Cole has always lacked having a great Executive Producer and A&R to direct his albums.

Cole doesn’t have the musical ear to match his skills as a rapper.

Rick Ross is a prime example. Ross is nowhere near the level of rapper Cole is, BUT his ear for music clears Cole’s by a mile.

Ross knows who to pick for features and hooks. Ross also has the best ear for beats.

Ross’ album discography washes Cole’s easily

I was thinking this, this Cole album isn't anything 'bad' but it feels soo safe and stagnant creatively, the most daring tracks sound like bad Drake copies, Cole has never seemed to have this skill
