Finishing up my first listen.

It’s a good album. I don’t think it’s a great album, which is a let down given the hype he put on it (which was very silly in retrospect).

clouds gave me very high expectations, too, because I think clouds is one of the best rap songs ive heard in a while. Was hoping for some more clouds level songs here

This feels like a 7/10 to me probably

Long ass buildup, underwhelming drop, rappity raps

Im on my first listen and not even halfway thru the album. Flows are wonderful as expected but the song structures have been so messy and lots of these songs wouldve used a better hook or beat or both which has been my concerns with like the last 3 cole projects….some of these sound so shallow

so Cole had his marriage in 2015 and something important happened that year as well that led to the beginning of the fall off as a concept which seems to be the death of the friend in SAFETY and realizing he’s getting more separated from his city and inspiration as he started to lose his love for rapping after the massive success of FHD and the flexing on Two Six

was listening back to Hunger on Hillside and he said he stopped creeping 6 years ago (2015)

I need that 2nd disc to be all bangers or this might be a woat retirement album

A retirement/homecoming album should be triumphant and celebratory with anthems on top of anthems why tf is dude lecturing and whispering
