A retirement/homecoming album should be triumphant and celebratory with anthems on top of anthems why tf is dude lecturing and whispering

And not even lecturing about any real s*** lol

Just the same cautionary tales about barely hood niggas and some random hoes

    Niggas is bugging lol

  • The juxtaposition of them 4 tracks he dropped and the album is so funny.

Because I know one part of Cole fans just want him to black over classic instrumentals and the other part actually want to hear his story and concepts etc.

Me personally give me Birthday Blizzard as a whole album but that is just me.

Yeah bro I’m a Cole miner what can I say I hear the criticisms about the expectations totally valid but I’ll offer a different perspective. People were expecting some sort of hip hop defining album but I just think it’s a J Cole defining album. He’s always been true to himself and I feel like the album reflects that

I respect that take you always been valid with your opinion

To your point though he definitely marketed this like a hip-hop defining classic even said he owed it to hip-hop. S*** just seems like a bait and switch lowkey
