You the poor thang nigga right?
JUST A QUICK STOP BE4 I LEAVE YA'LL
The "Trap": God instructs Moses to lead the Israelites into a specific camp by the sea, making them appear "confused" and trapped to lure Pharaoh into a final pursuit.
The Pursuit: Pharaoh regrets losing his labor force and chases the Israelites with 600 select chariots and his entire army.
The People's Terror: Trapped between the sea and the approaching army, the Israelites panic and complain to Moses, famously asking if he brought them there just because there weren't enough graves in Egypt.
Moses' Reassurance: Moses delivers one of the most cited commands in the Bible: "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today... The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still".
The Miracle: At God's command, Moses stretches out his staff. A strong east wind blows all night, parting the waters so the Israelites can walk through on dry ground with walls of water on either side.
The Destruction of Egypt: The Egyptian army follows them into the sea. God throws them into confusion, jams their chariot wheels, and then commands Moses to close the waters, drowning the entire Egyptian army

EXODUS 14
do you listen to music or skim through it
Definitely
Only reason I still use the classic terminology is because im a millennial man so im stuck in my ways... I miss the days before overly cynical online culture. Before p4k and Fantano started s***ting on everything. When a good quality hip hop album would get that stamp from XXL or The Source and you just knew in your soul the music you appreciated was also being appreciated by the culture at large. S*** was a great feeling growing up.
This album reminds me a lot of that era tbh. Just great substantive hip hop music all the way through. I think this album and the effort that went into it and most importantly the high level rapping is more than deserving of appreciation and respect from the culture so ima always fly that flag personally
I agree with you for sure bro. I think that’s kind of what has been pulling me to this album so strongly because it made me realize why I love J Cole so much as an artist. Artistically he’s always been himself and regular people just f*** with that. Of course he’s not absolved from any criticism pertaining to the music all valid and fair game but he believed in the work he put out and people are responding to that. I hate to take it back to the beef but I know I was beyond annoyed with how he handled things at first. Listening to this and just thinking in retrospect it made me understand at least that’s just not who he is and never wanted to pretended to be anything other than just a dude who can rap at a high level but with online culture it just turns into something else completely and I see why someone wouldn’t want to be a part of that as a regular person
I listen bruh
"20 on pump 6," dirty Marcellus called me Dumbo

The bonus tracks of both disc work as a summary of what both discs are about
Yeah they really shouldn’t have bonus in their titles
Yeah they really shouldn’t have bonus in their titles
Yea he could of used (outro) i think it was just to let people know that each disc is it's own standalone album and separate them or he would of put them both at the very end
Also think maybe it's cause the narratives of each disc end with Bombs in the ville & and the whole world is the Ville
album grew
amazing
…but i am really sorry to tell y’all that FHD was being played yesterday and its so much better, concise and way more of accesible while still being deep
the one word that comes to mind with this album is just
“homeworkey” idk how to put it
also…many things ding it here and there where its just impossible its his Magnum Opus
and i really wanted it to be, heres
hoping It’s a Boy pulls thru

FHD so overrated to me lol
I mean I get why it’s hailed as a classic but I just don’t see how people feel like the rapping or production was just untoppably peak
This clears easily imo especially rap wise makes FHD raps seem like pre k lol
In most ways I prefer this, FNL and Off Season to FHD
Also an album being “consise” is overrated to me as well, just means it’s short and low on skips lol this is long and low on skips, I’ll take more music please lol

the story telling is more poignant on FHD even though the rapping on Fall-Off is technically better

Nah
The story he told on man above about his man facing time or the story on the let out or telling his life backward or telling an alternate story of pac and big
Just nah lol

the pac and biggie thing is just corny
chat gpt
coulda came up with that angle if you prompt it enough
on fall off he sounds preachy
and overly complex, again, the greatness is there if you sit down and read lyrics and listen again, but thats homeworkey
you can put Fhd on and he conveys equally deep things in a more accesible more digestible way

He doesn’t sound preachy, he sounds lyrical lol there is a difference
Like high level lyrical on Nas type time
FHD raps are simple
And no the Big Pac s*** wasn’t corny at all that’s real s*** they was a conversation away from deading that s*** and ChatGPT ain’t writing that s*** stop it, s*** is immaculately written with Big and Pac schemes perfectly executed

i see i see, im still not done going through the album honestly
im hearing you out ima listen again obviously
im just saying I showed my girl Quik Stop and How Much a Dollar Cost right after and she was just more moved by Kendrick’s storytelling and pacing
even though the rapping on Quik Stop is technically maybe better,

I dont really get preachy, I dont think he advises the audience of anything besides on the outro of disc 2. It's mainly just introspection and recounting stories
