Maybe J. Cole could do decent numbers for a few albums and somehow managed to build a fan base, but he was never even close to Drake in hindsight.

Had not even half the influence, Dreamville beyond irrelevant, OVO is pretty irrelevant but you can't deny the actual talent and diversity of a roster Drizzy Drake was able to assemble meanwhile Dreamville is just weed carrier group v. 234123. OVO had PND, DVSN, Roy Woods, Majid Jordan, etc. Artists with DISTINCT sounds and talents.

I mean you have to just look at how Drake ended his album NWTS in 2013 then look at how J. Cole ended his "best album" 2014 FHD

I would say that J Cole and Drake weren’t as far apart in the beginning of their careers as you’d believe. Drake was always bigger but it wasn’t a blowout by any margin. These days that’s a different story but Drake is one of the biggest hip hop acts of all time so that’s not a knock on Cole

Huh? Drake did 447K with his debut album that dropped in 2010. Cole didn't cross the 400K mark until 2016 with 4YEO.

Drake took Cole on an arena tour in 2012. Cole didn't book an arena tour for himself until 2017.

Drake was scoring top 10 hits like crazy from 2009, starting with Best I Ever Had. Cole didn't score his first top 10 hit until 2017.

Cole has done at least 400K in a week once. Drake has done it 7 times.

It's not close.

Drake was always bigger than Cole and it's never ever been close.
