6/10
Heavy j Cole and Drake influence.
He still hasn't become his own tho. Production was good
He's not really saying much in most of the songs
Listen again, if anything he said too much
I don’t wanna hear another vulnerable therapy song for the rest of the year
Why didn't he just call this a mixtape lol
Feels like one but at least it’s cohesive and not a mess.

We’re off that aren’t we? Surprise drop album= mixtape/non event album. Even pop artists been going like that
This trauma dump rap has officially jumped the shark, I don’t want to hear a rapper get personal again until 2030
i like this but i can tell i’ll never revisit it
I understand but I just think the language he’s using basically implies things that he might not actually be trying to say. It reads to me like there’s a level of nuance in the verse where he’s kind of asking himself about that concept of being loyal and what the limits are. It doesn’t feel cut and dry “I cut him off” it reads that he’s conflicted to me. So some people take that nuance and feel like it’s being too forgiving to even touch those thoughts.
But on the flip he’s not just virtue signaling proudly saying “I cut him off it’s dead it’s over”. I feel like in those lines it’s kind of like “damn man we were supposed to be unconditional love, is there such thing? What’s the limits what’s the conditions? What’s the limit of my loyalty?” idk it feels like a real thought process. And I don’t think it’s completely unambiguous
What do you think he's leaving up to be implied?
"Years of camaraderie suddenly disappear
Almost like you never were here"
How does that spell anything else but the friends are cut off. I really don't see this ambiguity ur expressing. Doesn't even sound like a thought process, ur thinking he's asking questions in that verse when they're actually statements.
Lmao everyone split on the GGG song
Had so much potential but he fumbled it hard.
I would've started that joint talking bout how he used to chill with Marcus and towards the end reveal he's a rapist.
On some Darkness Eminem type sht

I f*** with it, definitely getting play from me and Denver a great follow up as well.

This attitude amongst consumers is why we keep getting fast food rap

I mean this is still gonna flop and the overall delivery of it (no features, cohesive, trying to do image recovery temporarily, meant for the 'streets') seems more like the purpose of a mixtape.

i agree with this actually and i think @thegreatdivine kind of insinuated the same thing with her write up

To me the terms he’s using are very loaded terms that imply a lot of ambiguity and conflict, they are statements but it doesn’t read to me that he’s sure of it at all, it’s like he’s saying what happened but he doesn’t spell out how he feels about it happening. And the way he feels about it is obviously more complex than just “it’s over”. I guess I’m reading something between the lines, I pointed out the lines I was talking about that specifically felt that way, if you read it different that’s cool
Jackman got very personal on this one. Just goes to show that no matter how many b****es you pull or rizz you have, there will always be a void inside of the male species

Nah, it can be done well like all other types of rap. Jack is just decent as a rapper so it’s not pulled off in an enjoyable way

don’t think the labels nor him care about the commercial success of this, i think the main thing was trying to regain the respect lost with come home
which i think he did

I can give you that, the song clearly missing the emotions aspect of it. But still think ur reading that line off
It's just him saying push came to shove and unconditional love is not unconditional
This man really dropped his Watching Movies With The Sound Off
The production on that is miles ahead of this
yeah I don’t disagree, I’m glad we have brotherhoods. my point is s*** is not always dandy.
men do horrible things to other men, men fall out with other men because of women, money issues etc. it’s not only men that deal with this but as a man you understand the complexity that brotherhood can bring
Unconditional love is a large and important ideal imo.
If there is no brotherhood, how are we to navigate on a spiritual level?
Sure, brotherhood is complex but just to toss it away because it doesn't serve you personally is funny to me. Imagine if you made a mistake and every single one of your brothers condemned you...
Would you want to be a part of this world?

He can rap
Now he just needs to learn how to make good song's
It can't be was really good
