that being said, i think the album did what he wanted it to do. this album was 1. for his old fans who thought he went pop 2. for ppl who didn't think he could tackle serious s***. and yes he did tackle that serious s***, and yes he handled it pretty damn well for the most part (not counting the pedo rape song obviously). im just spitballing here, but i think a good chunk of the target audience is going to be pretty satisfied w this.
yea twitter loving this
this nigga slim reaper writing novels
Don’t make me ask Bard to write an essay about the dangers of ktt
Gang Gang Gang deaded any momentum I felt after the first 4 tracks and the back half of the album didn't get it back. he sounds fine I just don't feel anything
with this whole mainstream Gangsta Grillz renaissance happening, I feel like this type of project would've been an easy layup for Drama to do some yelling over.
Don’t say that man I’m on the 4th track rn and vibing lol
Gang Gang Gang is one of the more interesting songs I've heard this year. I usually half pay attention to lyrics, but this one made me pay attention. Last song to do that was Auntie Diaries.
these beats are so good would have loved to hear some other rappers on them.
This would've been Cole's best album if he did a little co-production.

Gang gang gang is a good ass track. Especially with the lyrical content.
Some thoughts about the new Jack Harlow album.
I don't know if he was in a hurry to put this out, but I would have preferred it if he took his time and actually fleshed out tracks 1-8 and 10 so they weren't so short. Maybe it was intentional, maybe he felt he'd said all he needed to say or maybe he didn't have more to add but either way, 90% of the songs on the album ending just as he's about to start heading somewhere doesn't do the album any favors. I don't understand. He's clearly not shooting for hits with this album so why not just go all the way if he was always gonna keep it at 10 songs?
One example of this is Gang Gang Gang — an excellent song in theory which falls short in execution. Why not focus on the story of Marcus in the first verse and tell that across three verses so it's an actual story that listeners could have gotten invested in?
The entire album feels like a missed opportunity and that's unfortunate because Jack is clearly a talented rapper. Listen to Ambitious and then listen to 9AM in Dallas. He tries to accomplish something similar but it's clear he really doesn't have anything potent to talk about because both songs hit differently. I might be alone in this but it's hard for me to connect to his music on a personal level. Before Drake, Kendrick and Cole were dropping albums on major labels, they'd won me over with their personal storytelling. That's what seems to be missing in Jack's music for me.
My advice to him would be to focus on just making bops because this lane will yield very little reward for him. His personal stories aren't compelling enough and that's partly because he doesn't take the time to really dig in and make them compelling. He can do the Drake thing where he tries to sprinkle more meaningful songs in between the bangers on his albums but then again, that's neither here nor there.
Overall, I'd say good project with a lot of missed potential. Better effort that his last album but his debut album still feels like a more complete offering to me. I'd give it a 6.5-7/10.
I agree with the Cole Kendrick Drake thing, about having better personal storytelling younger in their career
But I appreciate Jack for even trying to keep this lane alive, he seems to be one of the only ones in this generation trying to do so. Oddly enough, it seems like his story telling has gotten worse over time
Gang Gang Gang is just so off putting knowing he also made Funny Seeing You Here & Already Best Friends
Also seems like he has a habit of just saying factual statements that you’re supposed to assume how he feels about it, but he doesn’t actually say how he feels about what he just said
Track 1 checking his privilege like he's Macklemore
Track 2 saying he's better than Eminem
The white trash cover hitting
GGG is cool. Maybe should've mentioned his DJ who shot the girl while he was in the club...
This is honestly like illmatic compared to his last album
It's more like that Magic album Nas dropped as a surprise and we all said was good and forgot about in 2 weeks
Not sure how I’m gonna like introspective raps coming from Jack Harlow but I do like him as a rapper in general so I’ll give it a listen

Decent 6/10
if imma be real, kinda wish he dropped this as a mixtape... but i respect him for dropping it as an album
this sounds like cole on the warm up with a bit of drake

You don't like receiving wisdom from a person with almost no life experience?
GGG and It Can't Be my favorites so far. Very focused songs articulating some stuff specific to him.

Semantics and mean nothing anyway
Mixtape vs Album in 2023 is pointless
