First Class is hype
but like I said some classic DJ scratches would’ve pushed this to the next level
Facts
damn yeah this chorus is lazy af. I swear I saw someone post on KTT a better chorus or am I imagining that?
He sounds crispy though
Found it:
"I been a G,
throwing up L,
s***in the AM
Bars make em say O
They Kno who i R
We don't OUS (shit)"
cc: @Mmm_Hmm
KTT told me not scaring the hoes was the utmost priority. Mission accomplished
Some call it scaring the hoes, I call it thinning the herd
Yeah, you're right. So Far Gone is better than anything Jack has ever made. Like MILES ahead of any body of work he's ever put out and that was a mixtape he made as an unsigned artist.
Jack still doesn't have a banger like Best I Ever Had in his catalog, talk less of cuts like Houstatlantavegas, Lust for Life, Sooner Than Later, the Calm, November 18th. We haven't even gotten to Thank Me Later and how solid of a project that was and niggas are acting like he's about to drop a Take Care-level project with his forthcoming album. All they're doing is setting him up.
I don't know how anyone in their right mind can see dude reaching Drake-level when his talent is severely lacking in comparison.
Baxter Avenue and River Road are sort of like a Calm / Lust for Life
But I agree we wanted to crown Harlow the next Drake way too soon. Unlikely there will ever be a next Drake
Oh he dropped a Euphoria bar. This song is hacking your girlfriend's brain as we speak
Better get used to it
I hate to defend Harlow here but he never had a 40.
But yeah Harlow still not even close to a good songwriter yet
40 doesn't write lyrics for Drake and production isn't an issue for Jack. He has songs off his last album that have way better production than First Class. He has access to dozens of dope producers. There's really no reason why his beats shouldn't be the utmost best.
What's even more concerning is how basic and rudimentary his bars still are. Dude is still rapping like he's a 16 year-old high school kid and he feels comfortable doing that.
Idk why y’all mad that he isn’t some musical savant. Dude’s nice with it and makes good music. That’s all we should expect
No one expected him to be a musical savant. Y'all just need to stop comparing him to Drake when he has shown zero signs of making music that's close to being even half as good as the music Drake was making at his age.
The bar y'all should be using for Jack Harlow is G-Eazy, not Drake.

They hate to hear it but it’s true
He’s basically G-Eazy with less edge & a better ear
Why tf we comparing him to Drake, he not even mac miller level
Mac Miller was making the best music of his career before he died but even teenage Mac was a better spitter than current Jack is.
Drake on the album apparently, can't wait for Drake to humble this kid and his mediocre delivery
They're gonna turn a collab between them two as some passing-the-torch moment. They're already doing the most with them just being cool with each other.

Exactly so idk where this Drake comparison is coming from. Jack hasn't contributed anything musically

Man, 2014-2017 G-Eazy was making some DOPE-ASS music. Charismatic spitter with the co-signs from OG rappers and with the hits to boot. He was doing everything Jack is trying to do now.
I don't know why folks are reaching and trying to make Jack out to be the next Drake. That's a peak he will never reach just off the simple fact that he isn't as talented/skilled as Drake at making music. He can be as charming and be as much of a ladies man as he wants. That wasn't what sold us all on Drake. His skill and his ability to make great hits is what sold us on him and he never leaned too deep into the whole charisma/ladies man s*** like Jack is doing right now.
Song is going to be a hit there is no doubt but that, but is a lil bit boring
Dont understand why there is so much talk about him being the next drake, imo he doesnt have in him. He charismatic but the music way too mid, Drake was releasing dope ass s*** since SFG

Forgettable, surface-level bars that don't stick and don't do anything. He can't even craft bangers like Lil Nas X/Post Malone (two other musicians who also don't have bars but make up for it with their hitmaking ability), so what does dude really have?

You see it sticking around long on the charts?

Just personality. He'll prob pivot to acting or continue to make ESPN anthems for the rest of his career.

Jack doing everything in his power to stop the drake comparisons so you shouldnt be too worried

I hope he grows to become a better rapper/starts making better music. He can have a long, fruitful career as a musician but his current skill level won't cut it. And you're right, he might have a future in acting as well.
First Class went viral on TikTok before it dropped and now it's #1 on US Apple Music. It should have a really solid debut on Spotify as well. If that carries on throughout the week, it could debut in the top 10.

Absolutely. Mac was f***ing incredible

Yeah he needs to link up with a producer. His track with Harry Fraud was pretty good imo. Hope he continues with that sound

If we had social media back then Drake marketing would’ve been just as egregious probably
But yeah Drake’s presence was very organic which is backed by the immense hate he received early, til IYRTL
