properyou know that ppl also put on shows/shit on the tv as background noise while doing chores/eating/etc as well right?
also video interviews/talk shows/whatever u wanna call it have been a thing since any of us were even born
just as pointless as sitting in front of screen watching a movie or tv show for two hours.. it’s all just entertainment and a “waste of time” tbh let ppl watch what they want to watch
I am fine with people watching what they want to watch. I really don’t care. It’s just my opinion that watching a podcast, which is generally just audio as a product, is unexciting and a waste of time. I feel the same way about talk shows, with the exception of late night talk shows because they often include important visuals, such as a zookeeper from a non-profit showing off their animals with Jimmy Fallon or your favorite artist debuting a new single from their new album. It sounds like you seem to think that I think that “sitting in front of a screen” in general is a waste of time. I don’t feel that way. Watching a tv series at home or a new movie at the theater is not the same thing as watching a podcast, which is JUST audio as a product. TV and cinema offer more than just audio

They’re killing you for this comment but you’re absolutely correct. I have no idea why anybody would just sit and watch a podcast. That seems like such a waste of time to me when you could listen to it (it’s just audio anyways at the end of the day, like that’s the product) while you do other things, like folding laundry, lifting at the gym, or washing dishes.

i agree that most podcasts don’t really need a video to go w it but seeing how the guests react to certain questions/jokes on this show makes it funnier to me than just listening w no visuals.

Lol I agree that it sounds silly, but I remember loving those zoologists who would go on to talk to Kimmel and spread awareness about an animal’s status in the wild. Maybe it’s just nostalgia on my end, but those segments were always fun to me and they obviously require visuals when they bring the actual animal on (which is usually the case)

I think you both misunderstand the content they are creating lol. I havnt seen this episode get but they do visual gags that don't translate to podcast very well. And they have a separate podcast for this show too
