One thing that I will NEVER understand in the online music community is the general consensus around James Blake albums post-2016

The guy has never dropped anything worse than an 8/10

Assume Form and Friends definitely aren't 8s but also not that bad

Friends is actually very underrated.
Only miss for me is Funeral and the track with JID.
I was addicted to Foot Forward last month.

This album has been on repeat so far, my standouts are the intro, singles, title track, Rest Of Your Life, and Days Go By.
Doesn't Just Happen is growing on me as well but I wish it was solo, the second part of the song is very good.
Through The High Wire is not as good as the Ye version but it's still a great song, just feels a bit empty and a verse in the second half would have been nice.
I'm not too sure about the last 2 tracks yet though. Those 2 are definitely the weakest for me so far.

Some of the synth work on Days Go By reminds me of Tyler

I still hope I get to hear the OG version of Rest Of Your Life. It was my most anticipated track, it's completely different now.

Assume Form is the second-best album of 2019 imo

I think Friends is probably his weakest but I still got it at an 8/10

On my first listen and had to replay Rest Of Your Life 3 times before I was able to continue the album because it was so insane

Didn’t come to argue is AMAZING, that switch up when Monica Martin comes in….those strings leading up to the change in the beat….
