no time to die ending is so out of place smh bond isn’t supposed to die wtf like has that ever even happened? It’s not supposed to be a bummer ending. Pierce brosnan and Sean Connery each had like 5 bond movies each and that never happened.
You comparing him to Pierce and Sean is a great point because he was always the anti version of them hence why he died at the end.
His Bond is a very different Bond from the others he's not in canon and was always presented as the dark Bond.
Also one Bond movie ended with him getting married and his wife immediately getting murdered so this isn't shocking lol
After Spectre - good ^^

It’s crazy you can go from making one of the best Bond films of all time / upper echelon of action adventure films that are on par with award winning films and then turn around and make soft and warm doggy do doo

I really don’t think they know what to do in terms of reintroducing the character post-NTTD.
They also have a “Tom Cruise problem” given how Mission Impossible has overtaken the Bond films as the premier action franchise in recent years. The latter Craig films took some things from MI and they didn’t really seem to work, or at the very least, Bond traditionalists weren’t open to it. And on top of all that, the action just isn’t as fun or well crafted.
They have a lot to think about before moving forward.

Isn’t MI ending with part 2 tho?
I wonder if they continue with the realistic approach or will they go back to the campy spy stuff with gadgets
I don’t personally have a preference I’ve liked Bond in both situations

Not according to McQuarrie
It was originally going to be the end of Tom Cruise in the MI films, but even that doesn’t seem so certain anymore.

Skyfall is indistinguishable from any other solid action movie and features almost none of what makes a Bond film a Bond film. Its success and reverence is almost entirely due to the fact that it has a good villain and all-time cinematography. It’s not a bad movie by any stretch but the shouts that it doesn’t feel like proper Bond are very valid.
Spectre is 2/3rds of one of the Best bond films ever made but suffers from a weak third act (which is almost a right of passage for the franchise) and one baffling story decision. It’s far from perfect but it features more of what I look for in these films than Skyfall does.

Spectre’s main issue imo is that it’s painfully boring. I remember my homeboy fell asleep for a min when we saw it in theaters lmao
