Nah, I get what he was trying to say. That marvel keeps churning out formulaic movies, treating the whole thing more like a business / no real artistry / etc etc.

But still, he's competely discrediting the audience's value. He basically asserts these movies are meritless from an egocentric perspective. There are tons of ppl who have found profound meaning in them - and to flat out deny this is what I'd call pretentiousness, and completely contradictory to what "art" should stand for.
