JonzNah, I get what he was trying to say. That marvel keeps churning out formulaic movies, treating the whole thing more like a business / no real artistry / etc etc.
But still, he's competely discrediting the audience's value. He basically asserts these movies are meritless from an egocentric perspective. There are tons of ppl who have found profound meaning in them - and to flat out deny this is what I'd call pretentiousness, and completely contradictory to what "art" should stand for.

Not to mention all he's done for film preservation and bringing world cinema to a wider audience, Scorsese is a net good for the industry in so many ways, all Marvel does is put money into Disney's pockets and make distinctive directors produce broadly similar product, every movie's a cog in the franchise machine
