Lmao my university invests 18% of its endowment fund into military companies
Basically every aerospace engineer is recruited into Boeing/Lockheed/Northrop
What do u mean
I needed the poster to give me specifics
But this is good to know
thanks
bro f*** you you was in other threads making jokes about flashing your s*** at women
No I wasn’t b****. Stop cappin on me and stop @ ing me
i open the tab and this the first post i see wtf happened
he mad that I dont like that he "jokes" about whipping his cock out at women unconsensually
I needed the poster to give me specifics
But this is good to know
thanks
Those are the specifics
Public research universities are the breeding ground for the next generation of military scienctists and political warhawks, and the endowment funds invested into military companies and political foundations helps build partnerships that funnel potential military researchers and politicians into the machines that cause these killings and other injustices
Oh so now we listen to the federal government
bro is living through a racially charged genocide of arabs as we speak and still busted out the google-fu, it's actual jokes
Give me any good reason why middle eastern people should be considered “white” other than their skin color and the federal government calling us white
We are subjected to racism, marginalization, tokenization, and genocide by the crackers in the White House.
I don’t need that bullshit in here

I'm not one to tell someone how to spend money but giving this to a private school says a lot
Colleges get big endowments from many individual rich donors or interest groups that affect how universities operate, such as enrollment. Many universities that want to be seen as Ivy League tier schools will then market to more predominantly white upper middle class families, which leads to college towns gentrifying poor areas and essentially having a monopoly on employment within the area
Many corporations, such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin have job fairs at many schools, employees that come to give lectures, etc to pipeline students into becoming eventual employees for the MIC. This is even more apparent in Ivy League schools such as Harvard or Yale where many former Presidents and other high level politicians in Washington attend, then later go on to work at major media outlets or outright WH positions…
More egregiously if you’ve paid attention to the Palestine protests at many universities, they have called for Divestment as a goal, meaning to stop giving money to companies such as Lockheed Martin, etc who directly assist in building weapons to aid in Israel’s genocide
These aren’t wild demands, but they do affect universities at a material level and directly clash with the conflict of interests of the ruling class, so they have been met with police oppression
Not trying to make anything sound sinister but this is just the reality of the system works
why do y'all speak so confidently on things without any clue?
sure the term sounds very liberal but it is a real phenomena whether you use that term or not
"Environmental racism is the disproportionate impact of environmental hazards, pollution, and ecological degradation experienced by marginalized communities, as well as those of people of color."
you can literally see this in America where often factories, landfills, even cop training cities, noise polluition often get thrust onto marginalized communities who often don't have a say at the local level which usually end up getting dominanted by the local bourgeousie (often white people)
You can look at Atlanta where they are building Cop City in a forest that is right next to a black community, guess how many black people actually was consulted, much less agreed to the proejct?
Now they are getting wildlife torn down, and a giant training facility with bullets going off all times of day lol
just stop
I didn't think it was funny cus it sounds liberal dummy
Bro typed all that up for no reason
Yes I understand that poor areas are exposed to more environmental hazards. It's very unfortunate but probably not the most immediately threatening aspect of being poor (which is violence)
If done properly this is the good part of all of this. Certainly not worth derision
Agreed, I come from the same inner city low income background & personally benefited greatly from initiatives like this that reward ambitious students.
Ps. adding derision to my vocabulary 👍🏾

no one said it was the most immediate thing affecting poor communities besides yourself… because certainly issues can’t be multi faceted and tackled at once
and you’re the only dumb one… how am I supposed to know what you do or don’t know when a simple Google click would’ve answered your question instead of using a like you’re just stunned by the phrase “environmental racism”

To be fair it is taking kids from the hood and sending them to schools they would've never had access to because of their class. Could be in technology, math, science, the arts, etc. So it is really good for those kids.
Totally understand the point that the money would very likely benefit way more students if it was given to public schools instead of individuals. But that gets into the discussion of the flaws of the almost lottery like system of scholarships. It can be either random to those who apply, or the students have to show exception in whatever their studies.
There's pros and cons to it all of course.
The kids also wouldn’t have to be sent to private schools for real opportunity and good education if that was just invested into public schools to begin with
This sorta feeding the idea that public schools should be abandoned in favor of private schools instead of directly fixing public schools if you think about it
But I mean this is something and a sort of start I guess
