FHD is going down as a classic regardless of how you personally feel about it
FNL and The Warm Up are classic mixtapes. That gives him a total of 3 classics

    yep

    Which tracks you consider duds?

    hello, st. tropez, apparently

  • May 25, 2020

people will definitely remember FHD as a classic regardless of how people feel about it on forums solely because of how many people think its a classic to begin with. as good as his mixtapes are, i don't think they'll be remembered as classics - good mixtapes, maybe, but I don't think they have that same air to them as FHD does. the entire circlejerk around FHD is literally because so many people think it's a classic to begin with causing others to mock them, nothing else in his discog really has that

I'll never forgive him for butchering Give Up The Goods

    FHD
    Born Sinner
    KOD

  • May 25, 2020

the people have spoken time and time again and have decided that FHD is a classic.

Idk what I want from cole at this point tbh

  • May 25, 2020

    FHD

I think that Cole's best album will be one with elite feats such as Andre 3000, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill & D'Angelo. Add in some smooth and Jazzy No I.D., 9th Wonder & Q-Tip prod.

    FHD is easily a classic

If he were to make a neo-dirty south type album (no idea what that would sound like but still) where he is doing the type of rapping he's done since post-KOD it would be his second classic

  • Lucien98

I know the debate whether J.Cole has a classic rages on to this day but in YOUR opinion what type of music/style would he have to produce over an album for you to say he undeniably has a "classic"

Or to you has he found a pocket on a song/album that you think if he takes that direction it will help musically?

Production wise something Daytona type. Cole could pull that off just needs to the right samples.

Subject matter wise he would have to stop doing corny type songs about losing virginity’s and folding clothes.

Keep it short and sweet and I think he there

  • FHD was close. Real close. Maybe if it was trimmed down a tad

I just don’t understand how an album with wet dreamz and lines like “give a virgin the urge to rape me” can be considered a classic.

Photograph gets repetitive and the title track isn’t that great but other than that it’s really good
