Julian Schnabel's take was incredibly interesting especially because he approached it as an artist making a film about a fellow artist. Julius Onah on the other is a black man who relates to Basquiat through the connection of being black in the white dominant spaces that come with the arts, it's interesting to see how different the takes can be with different filmmakers handling it.

I don't know. Robert Pattison is too young. Warhol was in his 50s when he befriended Basquiat. I remember a few years ago it was announced that Jared Leto was going to star in a Warhol biopic.

Basquiat interacted with some interesting characters. The cast for this biopic could be epic. Who do you see portraying Madonna? Keith Haring? Fab 5 Freddy? Debbie Harry? Glenn O'Brien?

exactly the cast could be something beautiful, it seems like a lot of attention could be focused on his relationship with his parents so maybe some big names could be cast there.

Yes, it does seem like this film will focus on his family relations, which is good since they were excluded from Schnabel's film, but I'm sure that won't be the only relationship they explore. You can't discuss his life in the downtown art scene and his rise to fame without mentioning the people he was hanging with. They'll want to make the movie interesting so I think they'll add some familiar big name characters.
