anyone got a stream/dl link?
surprised this s*** isnt already on torrents
lmk if u get one
rewatched love at the store and 8 back to back and then watched this. Def recommend watching all three together. This one isn’t as heavy on the jokes but it’s his best.
one of the last shots of love at the store is jerrod and jamar neighbors walking out his dressing room arms over shoulders :tears:
something I noticed in the first two is he has two jokes were his mother is compared to a prominent black woman (Oprah, Beyoncé) and is physically hurt b/c she doesn’t measure up to them. I was like huh, that’s weird, and after watching this one those jokes are so sad
I’ve never seen any of his stuff. But Bo is that guy, and this looks pretty introspective, so I’m in.
Thought it was pretty incredible. Wish the audience would’ve stop asking him questions tho
People were upset at Nanette comedy special but clearly it’s had some impact. I’ve seen multiple stand ups from greats that bordered on not even being funny. More eye-opening than anything.
More power to them if that’s the direction things are headed.

It’s out on torrents now rarbg
Feel like jerrod should have give more time to this special because around the last act of it he barely come out with anything i know it really hard to work on a topic personal like this but compare to the last 2 special he have those were much much more complete

same towards the end it happens more n more not feeling it, but its kinda the dynamic he asked for from the jump

I ultimately didn’t care for Nanette cause it came off really smug. A lot of its observations about comedy felt simplistic / pretentious. And whenever she attempted to make a joke it fell flat for me.

Something made by a white woman was smug?? Can't imagine that.
Haven’t seen it yet but I’m just gonna say i hope to God Nanette isn’t influential on stand up in any way. It’s stand up COMEDY. I hope this isn’t actually controversial to say today

it’s not, it has a similar vibe to his last special 8, which can’t came out before that. but this special is also a lot more than just jokes

8 was a lil bit of a disappointment to me, Love at the Store was one of the hardest debuts from any stand up ever, it feels like he’s drifting away from that style unfortunately
this was more a lot more morbid than funny
5/10
i had the exact same sentiments lmao
i enjoyed it a lot still, but it just felt more like him talking to the audience about what he’s going through than a stand up special
I don’t like this new type of Dave Chappell type of comedy like just getting on stage and talking it must feel weird for the audience I understand it’s therapeutic for jerrod
well this was disappointing
I don't mind if a comedian wants to touch on deep subjects, but make it funny. this felt like an intimate therapy session that was too raw to have any real bits or punchlines worked in. hope it was cathartic for Carmichael, but this was more like a one man show than a stand up special
we're really living in a post-comedy world
