These reviewers don't have the brains nor heart to understand Kanye. They're just some arts/journalism degree hacks who live on the coast and have lefty politics. They're just trashing Ye because he won't be their house negro anymore.

Lol this is basically factually true. Dont bother yourself with others here. They are praising the culture which is about social media, sex, violence, money, fame, fashion, crime etc, every move and viewpoint from them comes from the culture. Thats how they move. Ye was about that, thats why MBDTF, Yeezus, Grad etc were so popular and good, they were all about the that culture basically. Dont get me wrong, amazing albums. But like Ye said himself, culture was his god then. Thats why 808s and JIK are so different, they really have deeper meaning, music from his soul, 808s more about pain, JIK more about finding your god and meaning in yourself.

Wow you mean mainstream critics in 2019 don’t like overt gospel music from a man who embraced Donald Trump? Krazy. I’m sure they came into it with no biases at all.

his lowest rated album yet. thoughts?

    https://www.metacritic.com/music/jesus-is-king/kanye-west

Ok, let’s all do an exercise together:

1: Find Kanye’s page on Metacritic
2: Click on various albums, notice the number of reviews each album has...45, 34, 40...
3: Click on the JIK album page. See number of reviews: 6
4: Realize that only a small fraction of reviews are in. The score is incomplete.
5: Wait until all reviews are out, re-do thread.

  • Oct 28, 2019

notice that low score reviewers like the Chicago Tribune referred to Pusha and Malice as "Clips"

Mainstream critics were sucking Kendrick off when he made albums constantly reminding black people they're poor thugs that the white man is trying to get. They were sucking Jay Z off for supporting Obama purely because he was black. I mean, the scores prove it too. Jay Z, Beyonce, et al have kissed the ring, Kanye has stood up as the sacrificial lamb to take this onslaught of evil and weakness. Who gives a f*** about a review? The same people who give a f*** about a review to form their opinion are the same sleeping sheep who listen to CNN about Trump.

These people have been playing fans of the culture for ages. People are pissed Macklemore won but he won it because he played it better than Kendrick that year. Same lefty s***-sandwich, you just didn't like the taste that time. Kanye is trying to bring you to God's table.

This is a masterpiece you can sing along with your kids and that makes people realise that they are children of God and as a consequence born free. Kanye is a thorn in the eye of the culture now because he is the real deal and they are fakes. He is shoving their hypocrisy down their throats and simultaneously reeducating a generation to not worship false idols and a manufactured consumer culture that is destroying black people. Black culture, especially in America, needed this album. This is what a truly historic album is, not some lameass SJW bullshit that everybody already agrees with.

You people are sleep, wake up. These liberal a******s don't give a f*** about you, they just want to influence your perception so you never forget you're black, a slave and a n...

Also, you’re going to get a lot of hate for that, as Kanye does.

based on their last few pieces, p4k bout to tear this s*** apart:

    pitchfork.com/thepitch/kanye-west-jesus-is-king-takeaways

    pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/on-god

side note: as much as people hate the 'fork and don't give a f*** about them, i think they're insanely entertaining (if you find pretentious writing and a wacky scoring system to be entertaining). i gave a hefty chortle when they panned the new clipping album.
