But to an overwhelming majority of listeners it is pretty mid.

I personally think that the album isn't significantly different from other music released at the time for it to be considered a stand out or worthy of praise.

I think the content matter overshadowed the production behind it. It may in time be regarded as a better project solely due to the production being anachronistic to whatever is going on in the future, and therefore more interesting to listeners. But currently it just feels like a jesus peice that has underwhelming production by modern standards.

I don’t like Jesus is king so therefore nobody else can enjoy it.

imagine listening to albums like College Dropout, Dark Fantasy, Yeezus and then having the audacity to say that "every song on JIK is 10/10"
