I’m not saying it had NO cultural impact but I’m saying it wasn’t representative of an entire year ad culture the way Views was. Again there’s a difference between being popular and having some sort of fundamental representation of a genre and pop cultural consciousness
But what ur measuring this off of tho

Reality is as the years pass, the “cultural impact” of a release matters less and less.
It’s been 14 years since Kingdom Come came out and I bet me and a handful of others on this site can actually remember it on release.
It’s the quality that lasts.
U say this as drake fanbase isnt mostly compromise of white people
Ehh any mainstream rapper is going to have alot of white fans see Kanye , Trav etc

My point exactly
Oh thread got moved

Im not talking about who it’s for Im talking bout the purpose of the music and why the reach isnt as relevant
How is one more relevant than the other
How is one more relevant than the other
because the people those albums spoke to don’t even follow hiphop culture so how the f*** they gonna call a em album classic
because the people those albums spoke to don’t even follow hiphop culture so how the f*** they gonna call a em album classic
Cause classics arent dependent on the genre...
I dont follow pop music and can recognize that adele 21 and Taylor's 1989 as classics
And what does it mean if niggas that follow rap are saying views isnt a classic then
because the people those albums spoke to don’t even follow hiphop culture so how the f*** they gonna call a em album classic
Dawg my f***ing boss made a Keke meme dance video Drake speaks to the same fans
Jik is a f***ing great album.
Why does this have 35 pages?
Because jik a classic
Because jik a classic
By far Kanye’s weakest album and was barely even relevant for a week. It gets more hate than it deserves but it wasn’t that good.
Album is a mess but it's better than Yandhi would have been. JIK is a messy, rushed, and occasionally stupid album. Yandhi was generic, boring, and cringeworthy as f***. I will never understand the reverence people hold for that s***
