yo this dude said JIK is arguably better than 808s the real slander is the 808s slander. best ye album no question
Yeah that's insane 808s is zenith
Not a big fan of track 6 and 7. Everything else is amazing and it blows my mind that I like a Jesus album.
Overhated album
Before Donda 2 drops, can we all agree with OP
Dondeluxe
Honestly I think now that Donda is out it makes JIK look a bit worse in retrospect. I still think it's a solid album but I would look sideways at anyone that puts it anywhere other than last or mayyyyybe second to last in his discography
Album is a 4/10 on a good day. Then you remember we should’ve gotten Yandhi instead and JIK literally becomes a 1/10. Haven’t looked at kanye the same since he chose to release this album and not Yandhi.
close on sunday sounds like a bad religious parody track of what should've been a good song
Its mid af b. Stop lying to yourself. Listen to Donda and then JIK after, you'll notice the quality difference lol
It's his worst album because he took old beats and productions that were already leaked (even in better versions) and forced them into Christianity/Gospel music.
Thank God he never released New Body
The production is still top tier for the most of the time and it would've been better received by the stans and the casual listeners if we never had the leaks.
Overhated because people didn't like that it was heavily religious, was quite jarring to people and many didn't give it a chance.
Not his best album and feels unfinished but it still good. On God my most played Kanye track
Ye fans saying that JIK "isn't bad" sound like Drake fans saying CLB "isn't bad"
I think it's a decent listen but I get why people don't like it
People hated closed on Sunday since it came out but I always liked it even if it's a lil corny
It's definitely true that a couple of the songs (selah and use this gospel) suffered badly with the re works from yandhi to Jik and had wasted potential

like I say I thought it was decent but I would still rank it second bottom in Ye discog
Im not a drake fan at all but I can understand why people would think Clb is decent too. There's still a certain level of production and performance you're getting. With Drake it's prob easier to do that because he keeps his sound and everything more consistent album to album
I think the fan delusion would be more like when you start ranking those projects highly in their discographies.
Just listened to it again after a long time and its actually pretty decent. overhated album for sure. Only real dud is Water.

facts that’s why I’ve always said JIK is a classic
main thing i like about this album is that it was made purely out of kanyes new love for god, and i respect that as an artist to drop all other needs and just drop an album purely for jesus
After listening to Donda non stop for weeks, JIK is such a refreshing listen rn - water and hands on in particular, healing music
Side note, I wish up from the ashes was on the official release, such beautiful music
Just listened to it again after a long time and its actually pretty decent. overhated album for sure. Only real dud is Water.
water is the chillest song ever. heard that joint for the first time after a long run and it was like it cleansed my soul

yandhi wouldve been ass i thank GOD every day that he told Kanye to drop Jesus is King instead
