The left doesn't have an alternative until GOP becomes irrelevant because until then the Democrats can continue to run on the "well the other side are nazis who literally want to go back to ownership days so you have to vote us." I think it will happen but it just is going to take some time for these f***ing boomers to die off.

The truth is the democrats don't really represent the left, they just know they have them tucked away because the other option is so f***ing bad. Once the GOP is dead and they are forced to actually move policy forward or lose to a different better party option, hopefully multiple options, that is when the left will have an alternative.
