end of the day it's his decision and i don't necessarily disagree with it going by how he described things. however it seems to me like a lot of stuff stemmed from spotify's reach into the podcast world expanding more and more and joe being unhappy that the deal he had signed originally was no longer top of the pile, that he wasn't getting that 1-to-1 treatment from spotify. idk man, it seems to me that that's just how business work sometimes too. his podcast was one of the first they signed and he got that initial exposure and attention as a result. as they see how lucrative podcasts are/can be they start signing more people and they end up paying more for the privilege. if budden doesn't sign til 2020 i wonder does his profile/podcast do as well without spotify in the interim?

like i have a lot of sympathy for young kids who get forced into s***ty deals but this aint that kinda scenario from what i can see.
