The obvious reasoning is that Spotify would expect Joe Rogan to bring in $100 million worth of value.

If Joe Rogan brings 9 million paying subscribers to the platform and they stay for a year, they make their money back.

If Joe Rogan brings in 2 million subscribers a year, then they make their money back within 5 years.

But they get the added benefit of establishing themselves as one of the premiere places for podcasts, allowing them to expand their market beyond just music, because they’re getting the biggest podcast on their platform.
