Imagine thinking it'll be the same show on the platform that tried to remove xxx and other controversial artists
JRE has been mid for a little while, lately only the scientific/math guests have been worth listening to. Final nail in the coffin for me
What are some of the best science/math episodes?
What are some of the best science/math episodes?
Roger Penrose (A legend)
Sean Carroll
Eric Weinstein
Neil degreasse Tyson (both of these last two can delve into r/iamverysmart territory)
Brian Greene (My favorite of these guests)
Brian Cox
Sounds like a good move for Joe, might tank the viewership a bit but I’m sure Spotify will gain some subscribers from this.
But tbh I got burned out on the JRE a while back. Once you’ve spent a few months listening you’ve heard pretty much everything Joe has to say a hundred times. Occasionally I’ll watch if there’s a great guest on, but there’s way too many mediocre comedians on stroking their egos about their latest set in “the store.” The nutritional/medical episodes are usually a snoozer as well.
this and the ringer. Spotify going all out.
need to make the app way better though - its trash for podcasts

Good point
Good for him.
YouTube is a f***ing joke and is a pos company.
Glad so many people, now someone as popular as Joe Rogan, are finally stepping up against YouTube and going other routes.
This f***in blows. I already have a Google Play Music subscription that comes with YouTube premium + PocketCast full version where I keep all my podcasts. It's hands down the best podcasting app out there.
Now with this news, I don't see myself getting Spotify (free version comes with Spotify ads). Also I love being able to watch full videos on YT.

The last one with NDT was borderline unlistenable. He was being so defensive and interrupting Joe way too much . Granted, it was the first episode since his metoo accusations so he might have felt out of his element a bit.

Yeah I turned that one off not too far in
How Rogan, king of podcasts, gets a worse deal than Joe Budden? I believe they are both too 2 correct? Joe's still able to secure the $ and post full shows on his youtube
Because Joe was the first and could finagle that they wouldn't play music on his Youtube anymore perhaps, but they likely learned how to iron out these contracts better with signing more podcasts.
That's not a worse deal Rogan said alot he doesn't enjoy YouTube and his Clips channel gets more attention then his regular one and Buddens. He's prolly get big money upfront.
Putt it like this Budden can keep his on YouTube cause Spotify isn't willing to pay him to be exclusive to them.
This is also a true possibility.
What? Do you think joe rogan gets the same money as joe budden?
That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm talking about his freedom to move through platforms. I'm surprised Rogan allowed them to constrain him. The $ must be that substantial
People saying this is all so he can buy the comedy store and open it earlier than the guidelines and current owners are doing
brendan on tfatk saying the rumored deal is way off what hes actually getting paid
I imagine that means at least double the 100m people guessing
edit: he literally says 200 mil when talking about how they'd fly private if they had his deal
