Joey badass is the fave rapper of every person whose completely out of touch with whats goin on rn

Admittedly a lot of far superior rappers like Griselda, Mach-Hommy, Boldy James, Roc Marciano, etc are all in their 30s but theres still plenty of young rappers doin what he wants to do but better

    Fly Anakin
    Big Kahuna OG
    YL
    Starker
    Rome Streetz
    al.divino
    Earl Sweatshirt
    Theravada
    Medhane
    Koncept Jackson
    Lord Jah-Monte Ogbon

    to name a few

Yeah I’m a fan of Joey Badass’s music but it’s weird to me the kind of people that constantly bring him up as this legend that should’ve saved rap music or something. Kind of reminds me of hardcore Hillary supporters.

I'll be real with y'all, I used to be a big Joey fan, but I fell off when All Amerikkkan Badass dropped and I have not cared about anything he's released or done since. The Beast Coast album was kinda cool, but I can't lie, he was the weakest part of the project to me, yet he somehow got most of the praise from it.

I guess I just haven't been impressed by him in a good while, and I don't know why he still gets as much attention as he does now. The music hasn't supported the claim of him being the best out of NY, best young rapper, or even OP's claim.

So many new artists have filled his lane. Mavi, Rome Streetz, Medhane, Navy Blue, Jameel Na'im X to name a few. And even his own contemporaries have been making more interesting and better music than him.

Dude hasn't dropped a project in three years and his last one was so whatever, but he's out here with all these elites in music and taking pictures and s*** and I'm like...what has he done? Yeah 1999 is a classic and Summer Knights still goes. But b4.da.$$ is a give or take, All Amerikkkan Badass was forgettable af, and these loosies and remixes he has jumped on are pretty wack.

Shoutout to dude for entering fatherhood that's a beautiful thing. So I'm assuming that's what's been keeping him busy. I can never have an issue with an artist taking time away from music to be about their family. But lately dude keeps talking about "new music coming" but not only does it not come, I can't say I'm excited or have been avidly waiting for it because I've found other artists to replace him, who honestly been doing it better than him.

S*** $ilkmoney's album GTFOMD gave me everything I wanted All Amerikkkan Badass to be and should've been in regards to the energy/urgency and subject matter.

    Agreed 100%

1999 was a good mixtape inspired by the 90s. Pretty impactful considering the style he was aiming for. He was real young too so I gotta give him credit for having a well put together project at that age

But Let the Sun Talk is ridiculous. The verses on there smh fam.... how did he come up with some of that s***? I’m still dissecting that project
