people always talk about joey having one classic but b4da$$ is a heavy personal classic and TO ME his best. summer knights is gas too
Joey got a pretty solid discography overall
This is very boring to me but this is genuinely the most splash hes made musically since devestated so thats good
I like Joey Badass hes dope
I’m actually surprised the amount of attention this is getting

Regional competition coming back
He had a whole lane of nostalgia that was his and abandoned it. And both guys and girls f***ed with it, as dusty as it might've been smh
Joey always wanted mainstream success and clout. He's been trying to do what Kendrick and Cole did and blend being lyrical with making bangers over modern sounding beats for a min now. Not everybody can pull that off tho
feel like it got a lot of love at the time but it’s been totally forgotten about which is mad crazy to me. people aren’t even mentioning it this whole thread
I was in 8th grade when it came out and I bought the censored version by accident on itunes bc i didnt have internet so i had to get money to buy albums i wanted, i bumped that s*** everyday censored and all. Wasnt even a big fan of Joey at the time honestly that album was just super dope to me.
I miss that era bc every album in my collection was a personal decision, bc i had no computer or wifi monday-friday at my moms. My collection was B4.DA.$, IDLSIDGO, TPAB, Cherry Bomb, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late & Rodeo

I think it can be good seeing artists go back to their roots and s***, as long as the whole point aint just tryna beef with other coasts lol

Bro yes 😭 the scarcity legit made a huge difference. I had a Nano when i first started really getting into music on my own and i remember on tuesdays when a new song or project would release, i’d be up in the morning rushing right before school combing through my ipod storage on itunes to find one to remove to put the new one on and hope it would upload in time. It made everything way more valuable and you learned to appreciate everything fully. When i see people now say they’ll go through an album first listen and just save whatever songs they liked and move on im like smh back in my day ..
This song weak af, nobody cares about rappity rap bars saying “im the best rapper” if its not being done immaculately

Keep saying goofy s*** like this then wonder why nobody cares about actually rapping now

Man fr buying an album or even going out your way to download it gave me way more incentive to really dive into the album deeply and i feel like it gave the artist more incentives to care about crafting the album

B4da$$ is overhated. I liked it

Rapping about rapping is almost pointless. Nothing wrong with being braggadocios Joey is just boring and unrealistic with his talent level, he’s the ruler of what exactly?

We need to encourage people to actually rap. I don’t care if it’s just bragging, That’s literally always been part of hip hop

I mean I don’t think it’s ass but the beat and the aura definitely carry
The flow is fire but lyrically this s*** basic asf and the fact he think he spazzing kinda cringe
Funny thing is the nigga Drake for example would rap circles around this nigga in terms of bars and double entendres but his reputation so trash that it completely compromises his aura
I fw the aura of this but I wanna hear somebody doing it at a high skill level from NYC (Not upstate)
Respect this energy
That said only the daylyts hittajs and peysos of the world gonna care/potentially respond
I do think it was kinda disrespectful how the East all the sudden were claiming Joey Badass as the KING OF NY on 2000 after years of ignoring and discrediting him.
Kind of a desperate insurance back up plan
People forget Joey made a response to the King of NY bars on Control. Good times
"I am not the star? In fact I plan it (planet) all
F*** what the media write (meteorite), b**** this is a fire bar (fireball)
Please don't leave your comment (Comet) if you are not up to par
No names, putting you in a verse (universe) that's too far (Tufar)"
Wordplay crazyy

i remember it very vividly because at the same time Lupe droped his Tetsuo & Youth and they both was paying respects to each others albums
