It’s not just a callback though given the climate rn

  • This is real nice. I like the confidence and bravado that Joey is spitting on this track too.

I'm assuming a new album is gonna be on the horizon sometime this year. Looking forward to it.

He's definitely using the beef to try and get some light back on him again. But f*** it that's good energy for hip hop rn. Need some regionality back

  • This is nice. Hope Joey drops a good album

2000 wasn’t that bad but I agree it wasn’t as good as I was expecting

AABA is awesome though, I feel like that’s his best work, the melodies and the bars were both really high quality, I feel like that should have been the formula to build on moving forward. 2000 in some ways felt like a regression, despite me not hating it fr

  • Ion really like that "Too much west coast d*** lickin" line cause this nigga moved Steez Day to LA, against the wishes of Steez' family. Who have also apparently not seen the money from it.

2000 would’ve been better if it had a different title. The problem is, it’s looked as the sequel to 1999, and it doesn’t really work as one because Joey doesn’t have the same passion and ferocity in his delivery and rhymes like he did back then, 2000 was very subdued in comparison.

Which might’ve been the point to do a then vs. now approach, but lyrically he had to step it up to make a more subdued approach work, and he didn’t.
