for sure definitely an awful misstep to even have that be such a widely interpreted thing that happened.

    i also think the

they raped the joker out of him!

thing is actually whats making me just flat out shut out the possibility that it took place. especially since we had the prisoner dying + gary on the stand scenes that clearly set up the arc without the need for rape

i think if it happened earlier i would buy it and it may even be less egregious but to have it where it is, if it happened, is ridiculous lmfao

    yes, absolutely right

it's at such a pivotal moment where all the meaning and character motivations can get muddied up so distastefully

it's insane there were no test screenings for this, what an absurd message to have your audience take away

A $200 million s***post that only the star finds funny

WB really the dumbest studio on the planet for greenlighting this

  • Can we trade Todd Phillips for Damien Chazelle from the Director Jail? 🥺🥺🥺

    What does this mean

  • Oct 7, 2024

Alright so I caved in and watched it and surprisingly enough, it was nowhere bad as I was predicting it to be

Although some of the musical segments were random af and cringe inducing (especially Phoneix's)

I could understand how watching this sequel is going to ruin the aura on how a lot of people felt about the first film

  • Oct 7, 2024

That ending was basically Todd Phillips giving a big middle finger to the movie excutives at Warner Brothers Studio and I already know it's sure to ruffle some feathers for fans of Heath Ledger's Joker

When Gary took the stand it was argubably the best scene in the whole movie and my favorite part

I went after work and it was just me in the theater

Yeah this might not even do 3.5x it's budget for it to be a box office success

Am I the only one who don’t think he got raped ??

My brain just did not get that out of that scene and I was shocked to see it be the consensus as I read peoples thoughts after the film. I was like wait wtf?

To me it just looked like the guards beat him almost to death

Todd also said his friend being choked outside his sell after is what made him drop being joker and I feel like he would’ve mentioned the other thing if it did happen

It being a rape is definitely the consensus and will be solidified as the plot for people unless someone clears it up but I completely missed it. Maybe on second watch it’s obvious

idk where TF people got that s*** from lmao

To me, it looks like the guards just roughed him up and took him to the showers to wash him up / get the clown s*** off his face and dress him back into prison clothes

Unless, Philips / JP says different, I dont think it happened

makes sense, not surprised. the only way he would return to playing the character would be a hard left turn like this.

Movie is dope, genuinely. It will go down as a classic in years from now, everyone is just big mad about how the idea of what they thought this joker was in their heads, wasn't. The fans are not the director, Todd Phillips is, this is his vision, not ours. So sit back and enjoy it for once. The people with complaints, most of them have sounded like absolute bot opinions, as if they just wanted joker and harley to be doing typical joker and harley s***, blowing things up, killing people, causing chaos ect. I actually respect that this WASN'T that.

I can definitely see this film being reevaluated over the years. It has flaws for sure but it’s nowhere near the trainwreck like it’s been described online. Being called one of the worst films of all time is absurd

its taking everything in me to supress the inner burgeoning teenage insufferable film snob and not love this film solely because its a box office bomb and no one likes it

  • Oct 8, 2024

as a double feature i think this is one of the most unique and interesting double features because, he has his fun in the first movie, and reality hits him like a truck in the sequel, plus it being two different genres, but the same themes, and the score will really bring the two films together, the score was amazing again of course.

I pretty much agree with their takes about it having great moments but the execution fell flat at parts
