This looks hard
Am I tripping or did kaluuya's british accent slip out a lil near the end of the opening line
Daniel looks nothing like Fred to me it's killing me
Lol this how I feel too but maybe his performance will lemme forget all that.

Threw me off completely in the trailer.
Looked like solid acting tho but idk about this casting choice

2017 did that, ironically it was Daniel in Get Out that started it lol.

But y’all had no problem with an American playing black panther
I hate this debate. If you’re black you should be able to play a character that’s not from your own country.

Black Panther isn't a real person and Fred Hampton isn't a "character" he actually existed lmao

The debate reached as far out as fictional characters as well
Remember Sam Jackson’s criticism of Get Out?

Yeah but you just made a false equivalency using a real person vs a comic book character.
And I believe there's validity in wanting someone of the same ethnic group to play a fictional person whose character is displaying things you experience on a day to day, as well.
This isn't even an "American" debate. Nigerians were mad Lupita is playing one in the Americanah miniseries. Somalis are critiquing the fact Aja Naomi King is playing Ifrah Ahmed, and I think it's all valid.
