This is just a really damn well made film. It's very Hollywood, very comfortable, it reminds me of some biopics I might have might have watched 15 years ago, definitely not a weird auteur work like Malcolm X. But it's a great watch. Really well paced and acted.

I watched The Little Things the other day and the difference in quality of the editing and direction between these two is stark. What a mess that was. But it made me appreciate when a really good action/drama comes around.

This was good, imo there were some minor issues with the pacing but nothing too serious. Lakeith and Kaluuya did great.

the first hour of malcolm x just being him as a hoodlum was so unnecessary

Strongly disagree. You gotta see where he began, and where he ended to get the full sum of him as a man. Especially important in 2021, where we’re quick to cancel people instead of giving them the opportunity to grow and be better.

Just got around to watching this.

Holy s*** this might be best picture and we are only in March

Great film and great actor

Daniel was mad overrated here. A much younger actor should’ve played Hampton and honestly Kaluuyas accent was spotty as well. Just didn’t feel very earnest as a portrayal.

Lakeith was the highlight in this streaming algorithm movie
