Yuki being a star plasma vessel changes so much despite it discussed only so briefly. She does not like Tengen but in the process of refusing to merge she caused the fate of Riko. Now Kenjakus merger with Tengen is made possible which could kill 100 milion people. The responsibility she mustve felt must be immense explaining why she would cause such a suicide attack

You can speculate why she refused to be the next body for tengen but its likely she thought with her strength she could investigate the soul and aim at her true goal which is curing cursed energy. A grave decision as we have seen now which caused alot of harm. We do not know yet if her decision will be correct but I hope through her influence on Yuji and Todo her decision in her story will be ultimately justified
