Been hearing so much about this show, finally decided to check it out Only watched literally the first episode but like the guy above me is saying, heavy Bleach vibes. Like that episode is almost identical to the first episode of Bleach
1 week later and I'm almost caught up, haven't been this hooked on a show in ages S*** is like Bleach meets MHA, it's crack
And there's no boring training arcs, no flashbacks during fights to interrupt the action, just straight boxing. Not even 50 episodes yet and there's been at least a dozen fights
I fw this anime fr, I love how the writer actually gives a reason for characters explaining their abilities
Hit a snag because I torrent episodes and Pirate Bay is missing S02E21 and S02E22 Need to figure something out because I don't want to skip anything

Rewatched the last ep, genius actually. the whole Yuta part is legendary
The GOAT for a reason
If Gege plans to let the executioner sword hit, this is my prediction:
I think Sukuna probably made a binding vow with Megumi that if he dies Megumi will destroy all remaining shinigami and combine them into the final totality beast which can fully revive Sukuna. Since Megumi may be a vegetable due to being hit with unlimited void, he probably consents to Sukuna’s deal since he can’t think straight
Yuji is probably going to get caught off guard, and Megumi may die when split from Sukuna
Regardless
I predict we see Megumi next chapter, my favorite character in the series lol

Did you watchh the movie
Not yet, got it torrented already tho Probably going to watch it today while I try to find those two other episodes
Wondering about the thread’s reception of jjk philosophical interests. I personally find the ruminations on love, humanity, and how sorcery affects the jjk world not incredibly engaging but I don’t know my Buddhism like that.
I feel it’s hard to totally get behind anyone’s motive bc the yapping is so esoteric. How do others see it?
EDIT after posting this I read this fascinating theory on the very topic that got me more interested.
Ofc MANGA SPOILERS

I enjoy how Gege establishes those interests - he hits themes early and teases them out at appropriate times, e.g: Gojo first links love and cursed energy in JJK 0; the narrator calls Sukuna "the honored one" in chapter 30; etc. Because Gege reuses motifs (how many times did Sukuna think of Yorozu's speech?) , I don't think you need to know Buddhism to understand these characters - we can trace where patterns and dialogues repeat and end there.
Each repetition adds richness, but I'd argue exclusively on the level of character; there's nothing to gain from identifying Sukuna as an asura aside from its exploring the mystery of the man.
Why is this nigga sweating 😭 You are some ancient life transcending sage, you are not supposed to be sweating here 😭
Never left their room tbh

Got to 247, took 6 days, probably the fastest I've read through a manga, of course I just picked up from where the anime left off. Probably got through CSM faster since it's shorter.
Gege's writing style is interesting, at first it was a bit jarring where I feel typically most mangaka aren't as fast paced as this. They also tend to explain things before just bouncing to the next, but his style is straight to action then some exposition later on.
The way that he is able to introduce characters and gas them up from a strength standpoint only to have a battle that'll be over within like two chapters is dope tho.
Onto the story itself As mentioned in the latest chapter about Sukuna having not used his fire ability yet. The guy still feels like he has so much in the tuck. Gojo said it wasn't even close. This battle as approach what I'm assuming is the end of the manga, I just don't feel like anyone here should beat Sukuna. Yuji seems like he's finally getting a power up after being basic as s\*\*\* all series, so we'll see how that goes.
Honestly it feels like Sukuna is being nerfed or kept reasonable for plot right now. Compared to how crazy he was going in Shibuya the scale of the damage isn't even close to the same right now. No disrespect to Gojo, he obviously has to play defense going against multiple sorcerers now, but that nigga is just him. Like my guy is just slash people and punching people, he not even doing too much fr. I'm team Sukuna give him the victory.
High key the comedian fella gotta have the best power in the entire series. Choso & Maki top notch characters too, I wish Yuki didn't die her power was tough would've liked to see her fight more.
Tbh Gojo nearly packed him

S2 might be one of my favorite seasons of anything ever, from the gojo flashback (goat opening theme btw) to the nonstop action of shibuya I have been entertained the entire time

Being able to have both Sukuna & Gojo for $14 pretty much negates all other choices.

Gojo and Geto's past is (so far) my favorite part of the anime, from a character-writing perspective. That was the point where I really became interested in JJK. Also, best OP and ED.

Definitely the peak of Geges storytelling imo. The story since then moves so fast alot of his imo (as a fan) amazing themes and concepts get lost a bit in translation.
Hidden Inventory paints such a beautiful picture about the entirety of the jjk world. Its the never ending cycle, loss of youth when maturing as a sorcerer, losing your friends and taking their stories with you and especially loneliness (which like actually feel like sometimes everything in jjk is about that lmfaoo)

Geto could've been a modern sensui from yyh had he been the actual villain of the series alongside sukuna instead of kenjaku# as they shared kinda similar stories and gege could've explored that type of character more. The one thing i like about !#kenjaku# is his main motivation being !#an endless pursuit knowledge derived from curiosity on any topic, particularly jujutsu sorcery of course, which makes sense since he's literally a brain but aside from that there isnt much more character or nuance to him, which is a shame
After catching up, shibuya is easily the best written arc imo, It plays to all the series strengths and is one of the very few arcs the author's hand isnt felt, all that happens in the story in shibuya feels natural and a consequence of what you've seen so far. Stakes are high, battles are amazing, especially in the anime, theres a lot of character writing in service of the fights, the only parts i disliked where the mechamaru s*** at the beginning and nobara's death execution
