On another note I do think for s3 they should add some filler, since people are complaining about “character interactions” or lack there of. They should do it like Chainsaw Man s1 did though. Where you’d see Deji n em doing regular slice of s*** in their downtime.

Sukuna is just running the gauntlet as he did in the Heian era. It’s just he’s beating different sorcerers during a weekly release (bi weekly at this point) that it makes it feel longer than it is. Believe it or not, it’s only been 9 chapters for the entire Shinjuku raid (11 if you include Kashimo’s fight). Gege just regularly goes on breaks due to health issues. 9 to 11 is not that many chapters.
