even with this current fight I'm not taking any time to try and fully understand all of the jujutsu tech and interactions being tossed around. all the long winded exposition kills the vibe. just wanna see the fight.

Yeah don't get how people are gassing this fight. The first couple chapters were still fine but once the whole exposition came in and the whole fight turned into a big stalemate with each chapter just forced to end on a 'crazy' cliffhanger which never has any real payoff because it gets countered in the next chapter, it got really boring

Literally most fight formulas are this way with it going back and forth. This criticism to me makes no sense, unless you want an one sided fight and it to end in four chapters.

Some people should just not read manga which requires you to wait weekly for 19 pages if the problem is cliffhangers. I feel no matter a series people complain when a fight lasts more than 7 chapters. Just wait until the anime adapts it then

The problem is cliffhangers with no payoff like I said. I love long fights and have been missing them for a while in Manga but this fight just isn't it.

So tell me after the cliffhangers, what is suppose to happen besides the fight continuing which it is, or ending? There were just critical hits to show both of them being powerful.

And there was pay offs/things they led up to. First is Gojo losing the domain-cliffhanger. Showed that open barrier domains are stronger and how the battle will continue because Gojo was in trouble.

Next one was Gojo making a small barrier-cliffhanger. He then kept doing to combat Sukuna’s domain. A strategy which paid off.

After was Mahoraga coming into play adapting to unlimited void-cliffhanger. Shows a lingering threat but Mahoraga had to be hidden again because it didn’t adapt to all of limitless.

Mahoraga out second time-cliffhanger. Now it may be Gojo vs Mahoraga.

What I’m getting at is after every dire cliffhanger was an actual beat change in the fight, which is to be expected. I don’t know if you or others wanted limbs to be hanging or gone when these two have RCT. Their brains are fried meaning now the fight is showing fatigue and Gojo is in trouble because he is being adapted to.

Only thing I would say I would’ve liked a bit less of was the commentary but I also like it too and see its purpose because this is a complex and technical fight. Not just ass pulls, but building off the established fighting system. It’s a great fight and some may just need to wait until the end of it to reread it through.

Also the people not understanding Sukuna can’t do anything without 10s because his CT won’t bypass infinity, calling him a fraud seriously are being dumb on purpose I hope lol because they are annoying

Compared to shows like One piece and Bleach where their cliffhangers are always “oh no I’m out of power so I lose my transformation”, or get hit hard and go flying, this actually has something technical you have to recall for later chapters. You just can’t read it for who is punching harder. No hate to the other series, but they don’t have payoffs either I guess, besides power-ups or power downs lol

I do but not consistently and like Bleach, my opinion on it changed after awhile. I use to like both series when I was like younger, but not much anymore. Still they are likable for other reasons, and I’m not going to s*** on them. I do got a lot of gripes with Bleach and took them to the Bleach thread one day. Bad idea since those people in there went ape s*** and I get it, but let’s just say I’m not a fan. I don’t want to ruin the enjoyment for others so I stay out of there now.

I don’t have an issue with one piece, just not a fan, but the formula is the same for so many arcs, and there’s barely much deviation to Luffy and Zoro fighting big bad 1 and 2 each arc. They always win just out of simply being strong, a random power up, or out of nowhere attack they just thought up and that includes them being just being Haki expert’s whenever convenient. There’s not much strategy. I can’t count how many times Zoro just made up some new sword attack and sliced through the guy he was facing lmao I get you may bring up different devil fruits being tricky but the solutions to them are usually brute strength.

For instance, Luffy vs Kaido was just brain dead punching back and forth with a Yonko, with crazy insane durability until CP0 intervening, then Luffy turns gear 5. There really wasn’t much depth to that fight besides the power up. I don’t shame One piece for it, but that is what it is to me. Bleach on the other hand I have actual issues with but I don’t feel like starting that discourse anymore.

Bleach literally sucks after the first arc and you’re not gonna sit and compare it to one piece lmao the only common ground they have is they’re shonen that have been at the top of their game

I’m just saying there’s not much technicality to their fights. And ass pulls with arbitrary explanations do not count. I like established systems and how the different functions correlate and conflict with each other.

Not saying they are bad but those series are more about power level or one time ass pull (more so bleach)

But also Gojo basically coming back to life and beating dude’s ass just a couple episodes ago is the same tier ‘asspull’ as a gear 5 luffy if you ask me

Believe me I f***ing agree with you on the Bleach take lol and yeah One Piece is like the Mickey Mouse of Shonen or I would say DBZ but still, it is actually good. I just am talking from a fighting standpoint. Characters and world building although a bit too lengthy for my likes, are A plus. But still not my type of shonen.

But we already knew Gojo was alive since Season 1 and also knew he had RCT. It was already established he had it, but never how he unlocked it. So him coming back to life showed it. Hidden inventory is a flashback arc lol

And I just feel like, did anyone really expect Luffy to just awaken and be Joyboy? I don’t get how he just got his ass kicked then turned Gear 5 lmao
