But we already knew Gojo was alive since Season 1 and also knew he had RCT. It was already established he had it, but never how he unlocked it. So him coming back to life showed it. Hidden inventory is a flashback arc lol
And I just feel like, did anyone really expect Luffy to just awaken and be Joyboy? I don’t get how he just got his ass kicked then turned Gear 5 lmao
? And the story of one piece is how he becomes king of the pirates bro lol we all know he’s gonna beat everyone’s ass eventually but that doesn’t mean there can’t be what you call asspulls along the way
‘I used cursed energy to do x and I’m alive even tho I just got chopped in half’ is the exact thing you’re complaining about to me but
And yes bro they’ve been hinting that luffy was joyboy for a long time obv the twist that it was connected to his fruit was not expected but that’s why it’s a twist my guy

But one is a flash back arc, and we already knew he had RCT before the flash back started from Season 1 every special grade uses it, was he not suppose to use it even though we knew he had it in the current time? That would contradict the story Lol he was going to learn it eventually as he was already trying to during the flash back with his first CT reversal on the clone guy. That was anything but an asspull lol
The asspull would be if this was the first season and the author pulled him being alive out his ass then and there lol. But still I don’t think One Piece is bad, and I know there was foreshadowing to Luffy being Joy boy and getting his awakening but I’m still waiting to see why in the f*** it awakened but again I’m not the biggest one piece know it all, just going to guess he had to basically be dead but that wasn’t his first time being in that state. It’s what ever to me. I like Gear 5

I understand why it isn’t an asspull and I agree bro my point is that they’re the same thing where we got foreshadowing and a payoff you just seem to be less satisfied w the way they went about gear 5 for x reason when it doesn’t make it anywhere near an ‘asspull’
Asspull is like Madara turning into Kaguya at the end of the shinobi war in naruto lol
I’m just saying there’s not much technicality to their fights. And ass pulls with arbitrary explanations do not count. I like established systems and how the different functions correlate and conflict with each other.
Not saying they are bad but those series are more about power level or one time ass pull (more so bleach)
I got you , my confusion was more so your initial description mapping on to bleach way more than one piece but you emphasized that just now

I’ll concede, I slowly forgive One Piece for it lol and yeah that Naruto one pisses me off because I just thought about how Madara deserved better the other day. She did not have to be a thing, at least until Boruto came around if they wanted to go the Otsutsuki route.

Yeah no offense to either series. I don’t particularly care for them. Just wanted to make a point about fights in manga in general and used two with big fandoms.
But also Gojo basically coming back to life and beating dude’s ass just a couple episodes ago is the same tier ‘asspull’ as a gear 5 luffy if you ask me
Good thing no one asked you.
But also Gojo basically coming back to life and beating dude’s ass just a couple episodes ago is the same tier ‘asspull’ as a gear 5 luffy if you ask me
What? You mean in the backflash where we already knew f***ing Megumi was fatherless and Gojo was still alive lol

Gojo’s Six Eyes gives the ability to read and use cursed techniques in extremely precise control. If you put him on the defense it isn’t an unreasonable conclusion that he’d come to understand reverse cursed technique.

Man it’s almost like I address this later on in my posts
One more week

Thank you for the reasonable response but my point there was that the Gojo moment is NOT an asspull and is similar in delivery to gear 5; both of the respective stories did their job to lay the groundwork for those moments, altho OP leaves something to be desired in the explanation department but that’s just Oda
Which one is better? Love these mmvs (spoilers so don’t watch if not pass Shibuya)

You’re right, Maki is the GOAT. I like the Shibuya one too.
hes the king of frauds Fraudkuna

it's an asspull by definition but since it's been established and confirmed over and over from the beginning that he's literally the most unfathomably strongest sorcerer on earth and knocking on the door for strongest oat
I'll accept that he can suddenly pour every ounce of his energy into healing his own body and survive getting stabbed a few times
when I think of super duper asspulls I think of characters doing s*** that you would never expect them to do just to get out of a jam.
IE (demon slayer season 2 spoilers): oh look nezuko can cure demon poison that's convenient, oh look now she's immune to sunlight that's convenient
now those are some grade A asspulls
also in regards to one piece, I thought that the universally praised aspect of one piece was always the world building, characters, and relationships
I don't think the fight choreography is supposed to be the main draw compared to something like JJK that is a tried and true battle shonen

One Piece really does lose me when Oda goes in on a 30+ chapter fight. Its like 2 bullet spunges nonstop little by little draining their HP while getting nonstop powerups and new forms.
In JJK it was always about who is better at decieving the other party. If a ploy or trick works the character is usually also rewarded by hitting a blackflash. The current manga fight is the longest so far and while it also is the most forgiving with both parties having healing abilities it is still more engaging than any one piece fight I can think of. Since it is not sudden powerups and endless strength out of nowhere it is concept we got taught over 200 chapters being pushed to their limit
not caught up on the manga but i still feel the best fight of culling games was yuji vs higuruma everything after that just feels like who can pull out the more OP move out against the other

it's crazy how when we were younger and grew up with the big 3 and DBZ we were so accustomed to fights going on for 10+ episodes. just drawing stuff out forever
but now I've really started to appreciate anime/manga where fights just get right into the thick of it and reach a relatively fast conclusion
so far in JJK I've enjoyed most of the fights. the only ones I wasn't a big fan of were low stakes fights with characters I don't care about and the fight between yuki and kenjaku because that one did feel like an ass pull and pretty much wasted a character everyone has been interested in since the beginning
