It gets to a point where "subversion" becomes an erosion of a narrative contract and disproportionately mean spirited. That kind of writing isn’t good or profound. Tatsuki Fujimoto is head and shoulders above gaygay

I think the true test for me comes down to the later parts of the show which I did not like. I suspect it’s the nature of manga but there’s narrative issues there too.
