At least, I know better that to suggest that LeBron cares about points lmao. You said that rubbish with your chest and got rightfully clocked.

I didn’t get cooked, LeBron is obviously a pass first player but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care about points

You’d have to be an idiot if you thought that

Show me where I said or implied that Drake was ever an indie/underground rapper with zero hits to his name

Shut up. Stop acting like the Drake from 2009-2015 had some mysterious artistic integrity that the Drake now somehow lacks. That's what you suggested and it's a very lazy and stupid take.

Stop bringing up how you're a fan of his music like that excuses your god awful takes.

I bring that up because I’m trying to show you that you can be a fan of his while also being critical of him and his work

Literally all you do is d***ride

Shut up, dweeb. Abel is the one chasing hits. Drake has never had to. He scores hits in his sleep lol.

Abel chases hits and so does Drake

You said that like that was supposed to hurt me or something

Drake doesn't chase hits — something that's even more stupid to suggest that he's done since 2016 simply because his hits have gotten bigger since then. You clearly don't know the difference.

The fact that you’re so riled up about him “chasing hits” but also make numbers the main point of every discussion is very telling and slightly ironic

Because you don't understand the difference.

Abel changed his style and sound to a more pop/commercial sound to gain commercial success. That's reflective of chasing hits.

The Drake from 2009-2015 who you say was trying to solidify himself was already seeing success. Best I Ever Had peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 in case you don't know. Only reason it didn't reach #1 was because it got blocked by another monster hit (I Gotta Feeling).

So to suggest that he didn't care about being a hitmaker from 2009-2015 but all of a sudden started chasing hits from 2016 shows how little you understand about the significance of streaming to Drake's career.

Before streaming, he was one of the most pirated artists in the world (I believe IYRTITL was the most illegally-downloaded album in 2015, across all genres).

What streaming did for Drake was allow all the people who'd usually pirate his s*** stream it instead. Because he scores top 10 hits easily now doesn't mean he chases it. That's just reflective of people rushing to stream new music.

And that's why you're coming off as stupid. You're saying nonsense. His approach has never changed. He has always made accessible music and he does way less to promote his s*** now than ever before so how exactly is he chasing hits now?

All in all this is VOTY already until further notice

  • Jan 18, 2023

Imagine even suggesting that a nigga that's never used bundles, never done radio deals, doesn't release aimless remixes to boost himself on the charts, hasn't done the "release another album and call it a deluxe" thing, who doesn't do interviews and rarely makes music videos for his s*** is someone who is chasing hits. In what world does that make any sense?

Some of you should learn to keep your stupid, lazy takes about Drake to yourselves because you'll always end up getting exposed.

"I mean, I know how to put the ball in the hole," James said. "When I say I'm not a scorer, I say it in a sense of, it's never been the part of my game that defines me. ... But there's an argument to it. When you look at how long this record has stood and the great Kareem, being able to accomplish something like that.

"But it won't be for me to discuss because I've never felt that way."

"I want to win. The losing is not sitting well with me," James said. "I don't like having accomplishments, and it don't feel right, when it comes in a losing effort. ... So as we sit here right now as a franchise and as a team that's below .500 -- we've been playing some good basketball as of late, but we want to and I want to win at the highest level. Breaking records or setting records or passing greats in a losing effort has never been a DNA of mine."

"Me being out on the floor, trying to get the scoring title in games that don't matter, it felt so corny to me. So, I was like, I'm not even going to play," he said. "So that has never mattered to me unless it was about winning."

His entire approach to song-making and album-making changed post-IYRTITL.

There’s a reason every project he dropped from 2016-2021 was bloated and unfocused, because, as he’s admitted himself several times, he’s been trying to appeal to various different markets of people and sections of his fanbase.

Honestly, Nevermind was a breath of fresh air for a lot of Drake fans because it felt like the first project of his in years where he was dropping something that HE wanted to make rather than what he thought everyone wanted to hear
