OP loaded up Mario 64 after finishing Paper Mario and said what's the big deal fr fr that's some real ass energy best wishes op enjoy the 3D
I wasn't planning on surgical alignment and the prism is extremely light (+0.5BI)
I'm pretty confident vision therapy will restore stereoscopy as I'm already getting glimpses mow
Oh wow ok yeah mine was much worse, like I think 2.5 or 3.5, the reason to get the surgery is usually if the prism is gonna be so thick that it’s too disorienting, cause it can be really disorienting especially at first
Is it really highly effective? I don't want you to be disappointed with high assumptions.
I have a rare eye condition that only 0.1% of the population has. One eye of mine is nearsighted, one eye of mine is farsighted. In cases like mine, you must wear glasses at a young age, otherwise, you can get a lazy eye because your brain will just choose one eye to see and the nerves of the other eye will deteriorate. I wore glasses as a kid for many years so my brain has gotten used to it and my eyes are fine, although one eyeball is bigger than the other if you really look close (people won't notice it unless I tell them).
Do you have a lazy eye?
Both of my eyes are nearsighted, and I don't have a lazy eye per se; the visual acuity is the same in it and my brain hasn't shut off neural connections for it, which is why I'm confident therapy is going to be effective

i mean i wonder how that works bc TVs are 2D screens and simulate depth

oh, my actual prism number is probably something around that, he just prescribed a lighter one to promote a bit of eye muscle relaxation but still make them work for it, which is why it's only temporary
if it's a diagonal jump then it sounds like something is up lmao
look at the list I posted on Page 2 and see if any of those ring a bell
am i fine if switching eye my hand only moves horizontally?
tbh i've always sucked at games that involve balls ( ) so i'm tryna find out why

Well it depends on how far horizontally, usually the difference should be very minimal
Best to just see an optometrist
It's not like everything looks like flat Stanley, but yeah it's 100% more of the right image than the left
Don't think glasses are covered but therapy can be discounted by medical, like 30% off depending on insurance
It's frustrating because it affects so much
If you have vision insurance it's diff tho
i ended up getting an eye exam yesterday and the optometrist said my lazy eye is kinda weak but nothing major, said theyre aligned and one maybe drifts a bit but thats it
i even asked her about prism glasses and that stuff and she did a test with these glasses and images and i did fine so she just gave me a prescription for glasses but idk i. feel like vision therapy could work
me hoy minoy

2 years late lol, but how are things? Hopefully stable with no decompensation
You can tell the Vyvanse sleep deprivation mania was taking root from my responses in this thread lol
Anyways, I've been doing constant near-work for around half a year now (typing, etc) so eyes are constantly alternating again
But when I try to align them intentionally, the world looks legitimately breathtaking

lol funnily enough im about to get another eye exam soon, i went to a different optometrist and he told me my one eye is 20/20 but the other isnt (forget how bad)
basically i need glasses with a prescription in only the one lens, my eyes having vastly different vision levels causes the one to overcompensate and the bad one barely does any work causing issues like migraines so hopefully some glasses soon will help to increase the use in my bad eye

Like this?
Lmao wait if he sees in 2D wouldn’t the picture on the left look 2D to him ?
