But these don't even sound remotely the same.
Like the cadence of "lady" don't sound like andre's "hey ya"
This is a space jam reach sir lol
Agreed
they dont call credits the greatest source of music knowledge oat for nothing. credits finds straight stimulate a part of my brain that cant be activated any other way
It’s not close enough to be an interpolation exactly but it’s clearly a homage:
Anyone who doesn’t hear it just isn’t listening. Also it’s just the hook refrain of the old song in OP that’s being used for Hey Ya btw (0:47-0:54)
The difference in the two hook phrases is technically equal to this: https://voca.ro/1eEZl3AvxXKj
@Beach_kneega @begin_again thoughts on this? not trying to get at u, figured its a good breakdown and wanna know what you think
honestly never understood why they never had him on the track 2 begin with
we were robbed
I could be wrong but I know there is another version UGK did of INT playas anthem with other rappers instead of OutKast. I can’t remember if it was Pat or if it was 8Ball & MJG

ill peep later but using same melodies hooks and motives across southern rap is very very well-established as kinda its own thing imo. the entire three six discography including affiliates could probably be traced to a certain number of 'first-ever' tracks. not a bad thing at all either
Not a sample, literally same beat, different mix. Was originally pat's song but pimp c heard the song while in jail and loved it so much he reached out to DJ Paul when he came home
Well dang! I still don't hear too strong of a resemblance but that's crazy, OP really uncovered a secret here
Post I'm replying to is deleted but basically the composers of the song in OP were credited on an early test pressing of Hey Ya!, OP is legit
