It's wild. Imagine bring poor af in the 1800s and see that exists lol.
Cheers man. The positive reviews are a good sign. Anyone who's been here always seems to have loved it.
I'm from there originally. One thing. Taxis will scam you. Don't tske taxis. Get an Istanbul kart at a machine from a bus station. You can tske it everywhere cheap after loading. Machines thst sell the card itself are different frim the ones you load money.
You can tske the ferries, bus or tram. Between Asia and Europe too
Alive, having a good time, ain't been scammed, made good hostel mates, Still have my original head of hair. Taking a ferry over to Kadikoy to get pissed and see where the night leads.

Nahhbruh thats not true
Absolutely f***n not!!!!
Favourite city in the world! No place quite like it. Insane amount of hidden gems to visit all over the place. The ancient cisterns were my favourite!
Not quite loved it here as much some other places I've been to. Beautiful and unique sights - the mosques and the cistern. Hagia Sophie was especially stunning. View from Galata tower at evening was beautiful. Dolhambace Palace was decent. Gulhane Park was nice to chill at. Went to a Hammam which was good fun.
Food has largely been solid but you just kinda get sick of the repetitive diet. There are other cuisines dotted around of course but often hard to find or just not very good. But eating so much heavy meat and bread gets a bit much.
People have been the real low-point though. Consistently feel pretty unwelcome and like people are going out of their way to take advantage of you. Expected to a degree of course, and similar at other cities sure, but here it's just been exhaustingly relentless. Especially in terms of the nightlife which has been very underwhelming.
get that hairline treatment king, u deserve this
One American fella at my hostel, within about 30 seconds of introductions, mentioned he was in Istanbul for a hair transplant. Stayed far away from that man since then.
At least have some shame about it, can't be going around being that blunt.

What’s shameful about wanting hair?

Isn‘t the US full of police brutality, gang violence and school shootings? f*** dat
Turkey isn‘t Afghanistan. Not every Muslim country is the same. The US is way more dangerous

"People have been the real low-point though." That suprises me actually since Turkish people are culturally very guest-friendly. The country‘s economic and political system is completely f***ed up rn tho. Their standard of living is going down pretty fast these last few years. People also have a lot of struggle with the millions of uncontrolled refugees there. The election was like 2 months ago and Erdogan has won again (was close to losing tho) - a lot of people could be tense rn.
