unless the fans are literally at the set of the movie and in the editing room doing it, I don't think fans can ruin it. Even if fans uniformly hate something and corporations decide to make sequels that are even s***tier but please them, then we're just back to the whole MCU situation because clearly it seems fans and critics generally like them even though they are a creative stain on the artform.

I guess in that way fans can ruin something, but I would say that its moreso that general audiences can ruin movies rather than a fanbase.

maybe some of the marvel movies aren't and some of them are good?

well according to fans and critics, every marvel movie is good at the least even though they are literally the same movie over and over again

Its hard to say whether or not the fans ruined them because general audiences love them too. Therefore, I think general audiences are much more liable in ruining cinema because their opinions can become so f***ing s*** that we have been exposed to a pretty major creative drought in Hollywood this past decade.

    lmao exactly

and then the pieces of s*** are all like “ha told y’all the trilogy was doomed after TLJ HURR”

dude i think you under estimate the pure evil people hold within that with given Kent’s powers they would utilized to it's full capacity.

    It’s a scary thought.

Where did I say there wouldn't be. I didn't. But I feel like you're underestimating that some people just wabnna be left the hell alone lol. I feel like it's more of a gray area than just black and white

off topic but how did y'all view ROS in comparison to the previous films? I never watched it but I was under the assumption that the second movie in this new trilogy was fairly unpopular

Damn I never peeped how similar the concept of steppenwolf collecting motherboxes and teleporting away straight after was to Thanos doing it in Infinity War a few months after

I think TROS it's the worst of the Sequel Trilogy and the worst from the Disney movies. TFA was a great start but in retrospect it put Rian Johnson on a corner with Luke. I disagree with a lot of choices Rian made but the movie feels like it had a vision and a voice.

The biggest problems in the sequel trilogy can be traced back to p****ing out of making Finn the Jedi from the beginning. By making Rey, a conventional and stereotypical Star Wars template character the centerpiece of the series, you inevitably run into the storytelling tug of war between ”I have to adhere to story and worldbuilding conventions around a stereotypical protagonist” and ”I also have to do wildly different stuff to contrast with that”

If they stuck with Finn - a character the likes of which Star Wars hasn’t really seen before - the protagonist, there would’ve been more freedom to explore wildly new territories in the franchise while still including classic archetypes. And the fans would have embraced it as well

Getting a TROS debacle in the trilogy was inevitable the moment they made Rey the protagonist. With that, they should’ve built on the narrative of TLJ after making their bed
