The sequel trilogy was a mistake anyway
Idiots rly thought getting the rights away from Lucas was a good idea and thought Disney was going to tell a good story

The idea was to adapt Lucas's treatment for VII but once Disney bought SW they said
The biggest problems in the sequel trilogy can be traced back to p****ing out of making Finn the Jedi from the beginning. By making Rey, a conventional and stereotypical Star Wars template character the centerpiece of the series, you inevitably run into the storytelling tug of war between ”I have to adhere to story and worldbuilding conventions around a stereotypical protagonist” and ”I also have to do wildly different stuff to contrast with that”
If they stuck with Finn - a character the likes of which Star Wars hasn’t really seen before - the protagonist, there would’ve been more freedom to explore wildly new territories in the franchise while still including classic archetypes. And the fans would have embraced it as well
Getting a TROS debacle in the trilogy was inevitable the moment they made Rey the protagonist. With that, they should’ve built on the narrative of TLJ after making their bed
a black Jedi with a questionable origin story as the lead character? you’re insane.

tbh the sequel trilogy is a case of where I can see how fans ruined something. Because their intense hatred of the prequels led Lucas to sell the rights.
In general, I hate how risk taking is seen as a bad thing. Even if it ends up failing, I still think its way more interesting to see a gross misfire rather than some safe bullshit.

Remember when Lucas said The Force Awakens was just retro nostalgia bait and people stomped on his throat

Everyone says that about Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins. ”Batman’s dark.” I’m like, okay, ”No, Batman’s cool.” He gets to go to a Tibetan monastery and be trained by ninjas. Okay? I want to do that. But he doesn’t, like, get raped in prison. That could happen in my movie. If you want to talk about dark, that’s how that would go. I believe that pop culture is just, like, so ready for Watchmen. We tried so hard to ride that wave between satire and reality, and all the things that make you still care about the character, but you don’t miss the commentary about them.
