same overused comedic formula replacing any kind of awe inspiring superhero moments and any real drama or conflict. Captain Marvel was like 2 years ago and they simply just re-hashed Thor which was already a re-hash of the He-Man movie.

if you really think Marvel has actually been progressing I don't know what to tell you but I'm praying for you.

That scene where Strange puts on his suit and the cape wipes his forehead or some s*** for a cheap laugh is super cringe

Niggas heard Fox was bought by Disney and didnt think about how weird it is that Disney vaulted a good chunk of their films. All they thought about was "XMEN IN THE MCU"

In a perfect world Disney would have only got the Marvel characters from Fox and that’s it.

They didn’t need anything else. In a sense they really didn’t even need the X-Men but Fox was butchering them.

Honestly I think Comcast should have gotten the rest of Fox.

Fox was selling regardless so if any company had to get them Comcast should have because Disney still had the biggest market share before the purchase. Universal/Fox would’ve made it a little more even

Like what business does Disney have with Alien and Predator? Universal could easily make more of those if they wanted

    Imagine blaming Marvel for this

Tarantino was complaining Disney doing this years ago. you shills really won't notice til movie theaters just stop showing indie films completely.

mid-range budget films are already nonexistent. it's only a matter of time.

he’s literally the best part of BVS besides the warehouse scene and the very beginning where Bruce is running in the city to help people in need.

Finally someone said it, you take off the "COMIC BOOK ACCURATE!!" glasses and he's a riot

    They factually do

You are not informed if you haven’t been keeping up with their s***ty ass business practices regarding increased number of auditoriums requirement and revenue percentage shifts

Their movies are single handedly the reason we rarely see independent films in theaters anymore

But the indy director of one of the biggest films of last year went directly to them with a pitch for Eternals so you gotta wonder

and people thought Daredevil was an abomination. At least that movie attempted to take it's source material seriously even if it was through 2000's post Matrix cool lenses.

You can easily throw "overused serious formula" at DC or just be happy theyre both going for different vibes

That doesn’t have anything to do with what he’s talking about.

Nomadland has its exposure because of how good it is and it’s on Hulu. We have no idea how it would’ve done theatrically thanks to the pandemic

sounds like a smart money move. Thats basically what these studios do anyway nowadays. They just buy out small indie directors cuz they know they can control them. Thats what happened with Trevorrow or Coogler or Duvernay. They all essentially just sold out for the dough.

Lulu Wang said Disney came to her and tried to buy her out too and she said f*** that cuz she wants to remain true to her vision.

but the only "serious" DC films are Snyder's films lol I don't even care for half their films either.

Eh say what you want about DC's track record it's not perfect but the tones between MOS, BVS, WW, BOP & Shazam are pretty varied imo

outside of MOS and BvS and Joker, what other serious movies they got?

Aquaman, Shazam, WW 1 and 2, Birds of Prey are all basically MCU films. And this JL is definitely more light hearted than the earlier Snyder films too.

Same he's like a weird hybrid of the riddler and the guy he played in the social network with his overly elaborate schemes. His rants at the end are gold, h mocking superman and throwing pics of his mom at him and his whole "I DONT KNOW!" when he yells WHERE IS SHE

and especially the one right before he unleashes doomsday with the big frown on his face lol

yeah, I am very critical of WB but at the least they hire established filmmakers generally to handle these films. Just a shame they interfere so much with them and dont let the artists be artists.

    Disney literally set the precedent

Dude you are literally shilling for a multi billion dollar corporation because they make movies about dudes in capes

You weird as s*** and straight up delusional to the standards they have placed on the industry.

Weirdos like you see them buying Fox and owning 50% of the industry and go “YES! Monopolies >>>>>”

Put your money where your mouth is then and go support independent cinema

Of course normies want to go see blockbusters and s***, there’s no point s***ting on people for that lmao

As sad as it is, not everyone wants to see s*** like The Lighthouse

It’s just an unfortunate unsolvable problem that can only be addressed by continuing to support indie movies instead of sitting around crying about why your local multiplex won’t show obscure s***

I have no doubt that Disney is abusing the movie industry rn by pushing out s***ty remakes of their older films. I think that’s the bigger problem rather than something like Marvel which is mostly being kept separate to do it’s own thing now and is at least somewhat letting people have their creative vision (minus the ending battles lmao)
