Good idea. Should include an hour to two hour break during the day and mandatory school uniforms. Furthermore we should ramp up funding for schools nationwide and gradually make the curriculum more difficult after schools are able to help kids who have the potential to achieve but don’t have a home life that’s conducive to their success.

Kids should be able to start specializing in terms of what they want to learn in college earlier on. Even if you don’t plan on going to
college, you could spend the last two years of school doing what you enjoy and truly
delving into it before moving on. However, it shouldn’t be too rigid because people will certainly change their minds. So have a general studies option you can default
to.

Encourage student clubs and involvement. Create bridges with local public colleges and thus more opportunities for underprivileged economic students, removing the fear in the back of their minds that they won’t be able
to college because they can’t afford it.

This s*** is dumb. They already underfund schools and underpay teachers as is. There are MANY alternatives than simply lengthening the day. Add some entrepreneurship programs and internships/apprenticeships for school credit. Let them make money and learn at the same time.
