Now ur moving the goal post. Now its focus energy on one project when it was focusing energy into songs.

And what ur not understanding is yandhi became jesus is king. Just like good ass job turned into MBDTF, just like shmg turned to tlop.

And obviously ur wrong because I presented facts to support my argument and all have is the quote ye said in passing by conversation of course he didnt go into the nitty gritty of his studio process
U have yet to refute any of my points so stop it

I'm wrong yet I showed a video of what Kanye himself said. Lol okay fam. Quarantine got ya'll boys losing it. Yikes

Ye even dropped a mixtape of extra songs and verses in 2007 is the funny thing

  • Mar 31, 2020

If Ye retired from rap right now I wouldn't be mad. He would be leaving with 5 classic records, two pretty good ones (TLOP and KSG), a mid one (Ye) and a strange ass gospel album. Legendary run.
He could just drop a beat here and there, he still got it

So he’s no longer expected to make good music?

  • Mar 31, 2020

Hard to do in the “now” climate

    2 years is 5 now

By the time your 2 year old s*** come out it’s gonna already sound dated

He makes good music. The quality of music that OP was referring to is instant classic, god level, “I took two years perfecting one song” level music. That can only be achieved if your main focus is the music, but his main focus isn’t just music anymore, it’s divided across running a brand and raising his kids

    SHAQUILLE

He’ll never be on this type of time again

  • it's interesting tbh.

he'll never go back to this mindset because he doesn't rely on music for income anymore.

however, to Kanye, that's a win and if anything he's more proud of the music he's made recently vs anything in the past bc he's more 'free' to do whatever he wants.

whereas in the past you always saw him take shots at mbdtf and gold digger for being commercial and appeasing to people, he clearly values freedom of expression over everything.

however to the mass it'll be less quality in music.

I’m sure we both can agree that interning for LV and Nike would warrant a much smaller workload compared to owning your own brand, designing clothes that no one is buying and shoes that look like socks for that brand. Paired with raising children, purchasing a ranch in Wyoming with hopes of turning it into a small town, and touring with the Sunday Service Choir all year. C’mon bro he’s wearing WAY more hats than he did back then idk why u acting like he’s not

He’s less involved with his other artists

    Albums

He’s always toured crazy and put mad effort into other s***

And he’s always been able to lock in to album mode regardless..

He doesn’t do it because he not as interested in being the best not because he doesn’t have time

He’s come to despise being a “rapper” because it holds him back from pursuing other passions

He’s simply put rap on the back burner because he’s become more successful in he is other ventures

And doesn’t have to put so much emphasis on quality with it anymore.

Same way he put less effort into making beats himself when rapping took off for hm...

If his heart was still in rhymin and makin classic albums, he’d be doin just that

I still don’t think MBDTF is a classic

He dropped all those songs on twitter before the album dropped and I thought they were all throwaways

So Kanye’s track record shows when he puts more time into his projects he has a better outcome VS when he takes a short amount of time. He got lucky with one album (808s) but he clearly isn’t a consistent with that method

He hasn’t made a fire album in a short time span since 2008, so thread staying open.
