I think Ableton is bigger than ProTools if you look at all kinds of producers, amateurs included.
But yeah Ableton is probably more popular in edm type fields and FL Studio is big in the trap/sample based community

Haha I feel you. Candy is actually a decent way of describing it. It's definitely unique from other daws same with Ableton mostly for the session view but also generally feels really minimalistic, no? In a really good way though :)
Like at first I didnt like Abletons interface but now I love it it's super clean and it all makes sense to me.

Thats a good point Pro Tools defo feels more like sth professionals will use, it's also unaffordable for the average middle class person.
