The date only changes automatically at midnight when it's not out. They now changed the date ~30 minutes ago, so his management probably told Apple about the new expected date.

I worked for Apple a few years ago so I'm 100% sure this is what happened.

I’m having Blonde rollout flashbacks again…

Was originally supposed to release 8/5 or 8/6, then got pushed back 2 weeks, Frank came back, finished the staircase, Endless dropped on 8/19, then Blonde dropped the next day on 8/20.
