this one is actually a scary reflection of the times we are living in tho.
traditional poltiics have been circumvented by theater and cult of personality.
truth is, ye may very well be president one day. with how laughable us politics are, i do not see this being unrealistic.
I think the lines sucks because mainly the naivety of why Kanye would want to be president as if it'd happen. Trump was a one-off, main reason he got in is because the DMC pushed him in the media while pushing Bernie out so as to make it an easy win for Hillary, lol. Imagine them making the same mistake second time around
Second.. Trump becoming president would indeed lead him to believe that he could do the same though is he not questioning how flippant and ridiculous the criteria has become for getting to be president?
Third.. Obama was not godsent in either sense of the word, as anyone who knows anything about his presidency would know
It's just such a misguided line

also yes obama is a neoliberal demon but if we’re taking rap lyrics, then i’m not gonna judge too harshly for a “shoutout obama !” bar as innocent as that one
i don’t disagree i just feel like this is one doesn’t make me as angry as some of the others
for some reason “i can give a billion dollars to every single person on earth” just rubs me the worst kind of way

there’s a new coodie and chike interview and they seemed to pretty much confirmed my suspicion that something went seriously wrong during this era
i don’t have a time stamp, whole thing is worth watching tbh, it’s not too long
somewhere they talk about how it felt like he was reaching out to people and was lost during that era
you think of songs like only one, i feel like that, to then the chaos of the pablo era.
idk what happened but it seems like there was a big emotional change within him as he grew bigger with kim and had a child with her. it seems like he sacrificed a lot to get to the billionaire ye we see now.
but yes that era was so inspiring to me as a young man, it felt lke ye was the only nigga that made sense to me sometimes..
