i get he says dumb s*** and its funny but these words and affiliations has real consequences on all minorities who are targeted by white supremacists who really feel emboldened by Ye’s rhetoric and want to put it into action

Saying we need to "stop demonizing" Nazis ain't it either. I think he's trying to for a lack of a better phrase, attempting to learn from history of taking good and bad and improving on what could be done in the present and our future. Again, I can't speak for him, but he only knows what he's talking about. If he can't get his point across, it's best he just stays quiet.
